Ok.. so tonight (around 12AM) a freaking huge ass fly starts buzzing around my room, probably since i have the only light on in the house at the moment. It keeps ****ing me off, so i decided to start smacking it and see if it goes away (since i dont have a fly swatter). I smacked it 4 times, and screamed like hell in IRC and EVE chat about it. Eventually, i got ****ed off and decided to take out my sniper when i saw the fly land on one of the side panels of my desk.
Here is what happened...
I took out my (airsoft) sniper rifle: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/AznDVL/Airsoft/TMVSR10PS-1.jpg
Then i took aim, but since i was only 3 feet away from the fly, i couldnt use the scope. I aimed with my eyes by lining up the barrel and the fly as much as i could and got it on the second try: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/AznDVL/BugSniper/fly-2.jpg
Woo thats the splat! I thought i killed it... but then i saw it crawl out from under my monitor with a chunk of it's left side blown off: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/AznDVL/BugSniper/fly-1.jpg
I just squished it then scraped it into my trash can, im not sure if its still alive down there :| So yea.. tonight was fun... So next time you have an anoyying bug, grab a gun and have fun, dont use a stupid fly swatter.
Oh btw, i also shot a spider with my pistol a few months back: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/AznDVL/BugSniper/spider.jpg

Ehehhe, speaking of bugs and AIrsoft, I have a TM G3-SAS (sub-machine gun). I waws lining up the sights on it one day and this carpenter bee (read: BIG BLACK BUG O' DOOM) kept buzzing around. So I finally set down the gun and the bug lands in front of the muzzle.

No more bug.

hehe..you guys think those airsoft guns are fun, I get to work in the firearms section of a crime lab. We've got a referance collection of thousands of firearms.
Just the other day we acquired an H&K 33E and a 53E, as well as a Colt 1911 built in 1930 and is in mint condition. It looks like it's never been fired before, the blueing is beautiful, and the walnut grips immaculate.
I love my job.

Edited by: LVSOCOM on 13/07/2006 21:53:04 Not quite... The NATO spec 5.56mm and SAAMI (Small Arm and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute) spec .223 do vary a slight bit on paper. They are not a Metric vs. US measurement difference. A rifle chambered for .223 MAY be safe to fire 5.56mm out of, but 5.56mm chambers are generally regarded as capable of both .223 and 5.56mm. Part of the issue is centered around the maxium allowed chamber pressure and the brass case thickness. 5.56mm is generally higher velocity and with the higher pressure required to accomplish this, it must have a thicker case. Thin cases tend to expand more readily, where a thick case would expand less so and aid ejection. However these are just cartridge issues. The chambers otherwise are nearly identical, the difference comes in the throat (leade) of the rifling. This is the section of barrel prior to where the rifling starts. This section of smooth barrel helps reduce the chamber pressure to safe levels. Downside is, longer throats can (not always) decrease accuracy. NATO 5.56mm specifies a relatively long throat to keep chamber pressures at acceptable levels, and allow the use of ammunition that is loaded "hotter." SAAMI does consider firing 5.56mm out of a .223 chamber to be unsafe.
5.56mm, is a good thing. /Martha Stewart

nice mate 5.56mm standard nato shots for those who don't know what the bulelts are, used in m16 and other small scale assault rifles. 7.62mm is the big daddy used in 1k47 etc (none of yous play counter-strike? ) anyway, I dig that rifle you got however if it was up to me I'd put a red point sight on, swedish army have (they are so ****nig ftw)
