I recently did a player created courior mission. When I arrived at the destination station I tried to deliver the package, but kept getting 'NO OPTIONS' I verified my target station and all seemed well, but I could not deliver the package. I finaly opened a petition and the mission was canceled and my collateral was refunded. I pressed the GM for a cause, and he stated that the mission was a SCAM mission. I asked him for some advice on how to avoid this type of scam, but he could not offer any pointers. One of the things I did notice is that the item I was asked to deliver was a capsule. But the only way to know that would have been to accept the mission, and by then its to late. My question out to you all is... How can you detect these scam missions? There should be a better way to detect them.

I've avoided them alltogether, and only if they are made by people I've come to know. Which is nobody, really. It's almost as bad as escrow scams. Trying to sift through the garbage to find that one mission that actually pays what it's worth, or isn't a flat out collateral scam...it is near impossible.

Just for sheeyats and giggles, can someone explain exactly what the original poster was experiencing and why it would not let him deliver it?

Well there is no way to tell what it is your going to be hauling before accepting the mission. However after I had a problem delivering it, I opened the package and it was a 'capsule' How someone is shipping a capsule I have no idea. The GM that answered my petition said that it was a scam and that I would never have been able to deliver it. Ok fine... At least in escrow I can inspect the mechandise and see if I am buying 1 unit of Kernite but was being sold as a battleship. I can DO somthing to avoid that situation. However in the PC missions there does not seem to be any way of knowing what the good ones are from the bad. I dont want to just 'not do them' because that is BS. Its a compontent of the game, and it should work, and be usable.

It shouldn't matter what it IS ... you only need to know the size of the package. If you can haul it, and have docking rights at the destination station, you should be able to complete the mission.
I have no idea what the GM thinks he's talking about, to be honest. ________________________________________________

To my knowledge the "capsule" item is meant to be removed from the game as something you can actually grab and put in your hangar.
At least, that's what I was told after watching a friend undock, see a floating capsule with someone else's name on it, board it, dock it, and then go back out to grab his old ship.
