Ok so im looking into grabbing a BPO for a capital. It will NEVER leave the station i buy it at (except through fully covered courier) so im just wondering what the cost would be to run BPO copy runs in a major trade hub like Jita? (Since price goes up as more people do it).
If the cost is too much and i should do it elsewhere what systems might be a good solution? |

If the cost is too much and i should do it elsewhere what systems might be a good solution? It is not possible to give an estimate without knowing the specific item, because it depends on the base materials used to build the output item. The formula for copying installation cost is:
baseCost * 0.02 * runsPerCopy * numberOfRuns * system cost index * facility bonuses as described in the ramAssemblyLineTypes table in the SDE * 1.10
The 1.10 adds the 10% NPC tax. I am honestly not sure how the "facility bonuses" work, because when I looked at that table, they all appeared to be 1.
baseCost is the sum of the adjustedPrice subtotals for each material used to create the item: base material quantity * adjustedPrice of material
As far as whether you should move it elsewhere, that also depends on the item. Knowing the specific blueprint, you could calculate two different estimates using the two systems' cost indices and determine how much you will save. We have access to all the cost indices through the CREST API. Technically, if the savings were great enough for an item, it might justify paying the extra courier fees to have it moved. But the only difference in the two estimates is the cost index multiplier, which can make either a very small or very big difference depending on the item's baseCost.
I hope this helps somewhat.

The item in the case is an Archon BPO |

Harry Kashuken wrote:The item in the case is an Archon BPO The baseCost of an Archon is currently 1,259,485,441.12.
Let's assume: You are making a single, 1-run BPC at a time. The BPC is in Jita.
Jita's copying system cost index right now: 0.012887414160120042 Abha (0.4) copying system cost index: 0.001
1,259,485,441.12 * 0.02 * 1 * 1 * 0.012887414160120042 * 1 * 1.1 = 357,093.23 ISK installation cost per run
Now to compare that with the other system:
1,259,485,441.12 * 0.02 * 1 * 1 * 0.001 * 1 * 1.1 = 27,708.68 ISK installation cost per run
Hopefully I did these right. :) "There's no meaningful difference between a real and a virtual world. It's pointless to ask anyone who they really are. All you can do is accept and believe in them, because whoever they are in your mind, is their true identity." GÇö Kazuto Kirigaya |

For what it is worth, transporting an Archon BPO isn't really a big deal.
Had you said Erebus, then ya, getting one to Jita from Gallente space is a big issue. That's the sort of thing one wouldn't want to move again. |

Im just poor haha, anything over 1bil is big for me :P cool though 300k per run is totally worth the 40mil im currently paying per copy in Jita. Good way to save isk :D
Is the only major factor when running multiple copies time? Im assuming if i wanted to make say 10 1 run copies aside from the isk it would just take a long time (plus the 357,093.23 per run).
Edit: Im assuming even after the patch each BPC can still only have 1 run (i thought something in this area might have changed which is why i mention it). |

Yes, the cost per copy run will still be the same, no matter how many copies you make. The max runs per BPC will be restricted in the way it always was, and it will show you that on the blueprint as well as in the UI when you attempt to copy it.
