Why do people hate instas? I think it is a part of eve online and should stay in the game. If you want to stop people from warping from one gate to another all you gotta do is have a guy in an interdictor come along and POP a bubble appears! Pulling everyone out of warp when they go through. So obviously people who whine about instas being removed from the game should just stfu and realise instas are here to stay. I also have a question. When were instas first invented?

Make interdictors also work in empire, they will only pull people below -5 out of warp and wartargets.

Hmmmmmm, I guess that would be a very good idea! Finnally someone actually makes an answer instead of just making instas all around not allowed

Bah, its a game, it doesn't have to be perfect about the RP thing. Or you could have it so the warp bubble checks signatures of certain ships and the certain pilots and only pulls those out of warp I dunno lol, But I love ur sig btw, I want one.

yes, in the same way that you can pop people with instas.
YEAH. RIGHT.

Look, the reason that no one is comming up with decent ideas, is that this argument has been done to death. It then got ressurected, and got beaten to death again. It then got re-incarnated, and got splattered once more.
The devs know there is a problem.
They know removing instas will IMMEDIATELY **** off 90% of the player base.
Check the link in my sig for the stuff about instas.
The Devs have said they don't like instas, and want to do something about it.
They have also said they want to adjust WCS, but doing these two things at the same time is simply not a good idea.

Instas are mostly a problem because of two things: - You absoloutly need them in lowsec makes newer players unable to quickly get out there, since buying a set is damn expensive, and not everyone recruits complete newbies and hands over thousands of bookmarks. - They clutter up the servers, since two out of three items in the game is a bookmark, and that creates lag...
Avoiding fights in Eve is damn easy even without bookmarks, bookmarks just make the cat and mouse game a little more mobile, but that doesn't mean it's not possible to just safespot and log out if you notice that you can't get through somewhere. Just write down the names of the people hunting you, add them to the contact list of an alt, wait till they log off... Instas are really only a small fish in the pond of cheesy ways to avoid fights.

There is no good way of fixing them, only ruining them so i say leave them as they are. Although perhaps limiting the number of bm's a person can have is the only good way of easing the server load. |

Edited by: Ann Mari on 07/07/2006 06:40:57 Why can't you just put up bubbles in low sec aswell?
Let the bubble pull everybody out of warp. It can be a griefing tactic, but if a bubble times out every 3-5mins, you can't grief afk.
Or even better! Make the bubble give kill rights!
That'll prevent bubble-griefing, and bring some pvp to high sec.
So a bubble is setup in 0.4space at a gate. The guys camping have no idea what they're gonna catch. A hauler warps in and gets scrambled. The hauler gets kill rights on the bubble guy/s. But since he's in a hauler he doesn't do anything and simply plods along to the gate. News of the bubble spreads and 5 guys jump into their BS's and frig tacklers. They make sure they get caught in the bubble, get kill rights and open fire. When they open fire, the bubble-griefers are allowed to return fire, and you get a nice pvp fight in high sec. Oh yeh, kill rights are awarded gang to gang. And if the bubble guys think they're smart and don't gang up, only the interdictor will be toast. And only the interdictor can return fire. If the rest of the bubble-group opens fire, they get concorded.
My suggestion is probably full of exploitable holes, but I'm sure you guys can sort that out. If the holes can't be patched the previous suggestion of -5 and war only is a very viable alternative.
Edit: 0.8 -> 0.4

a "warp to 0m" option would b fine with me, if i never ever would have to copy a darn bm set anymore - most annoying thing in eve! - Purple Conquered The World, We the Universe.

Allowing bubbles in highsec/lowsec would make it a snipers paradise Bad idea.
And i'm a Outlaw... so should be biased the OTHER way. But be reasonable.
Lowsec as it is at the moment is a nice little edge of the sandbox, its dangerous but its allmost worth the risk of living there for your average noob. Decent complex's, PvP, Ice ? And gets them into the position where they feel they can survive in 0.0 (which is far less dangerous than lowsec tbh)

Ah yes. Too true. I knew there'd be holes. But one of the above posters idea of -5 and war targets is still ok? But the snipers will still have a waaay too big advantage. I suppose for this suggestion to mean anything, sniping will have to be nerfed first. Which I heard was gonna happen soon. Kali1 maybe?
