Don't understand your post really. I've been in the CFC for 2 months and am currently having a great time. They are so huge there seems to be a SIG (Special Interest Group) for just about any style of play. Seems like you could look through those and find something entertaining. You could post on the Goon forums, although I'd leave out the corp whining, and list the sort of things you like to do.
I hear about how CFC is all huge fleets and F1 button pushing. But you can jump down to FD- and fly with whichever 5 dudes from Space Violence happen to be on roam all you like. Want to gank in hisec? Miniluv has an app for that Want to use your 15bil to start an industrial empire? Goons just reogranized their jump bridge network in Dek and moved the staging system just to accomodate the industrial players.
If we're not supposed to shoot pods in hisec, why are they filled with meat? |

No they don't. Neither map data nor D-scan is meant to be flawless. This is intentional and it serves a purpose. And cyno's would be great in WH's, if it were possible to calculate where wormholes were in relation to each other so that jump ranges had meaning. But since WH's don't have a coordinate location on the map they are all both infinitely equidistant while being right on top of each other at the same time. This kind of breaks a few basic rules about cyno's, on a fundamental level, and introduces many issues.
I think there are things you don't know about w-space. |

W Space is made of win.
Go loot MASSIVE MASSIVE rocks of Hedbergite. Shoot some Omni damage Sleepers. Make your own T3 and plastics from Gas.
Turn your 15 Bill into 45 Bill with a little work

Highlighted the reason that will never be the case for more players lol.

It's just easier this way.
Also, don't forget to tell VR. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Why don't you just take the guys in your corp to one side & say :
"What do you all want to do? What's fun?"
There are other areas of PvP as there are in PVE (no doubt, not too sure on that myself ) so why not do something different.
I've tried sov stuff & it bored the arse off me. Some other null stuff is fine. Wormholes are interesting but I wouldn't want to live in one because I'm intrinsically lazy Mining is a no-no.
The point is that there's lots of other stuff to do. Sov null is not the be-all & end-all of Eve.
Try some more of it - for example sov PvP fleets are possibly more boring than mining, doesn't mean other PvP is the same ;) |

CCP promoting a product doesn't not make EVE 'not a video game' lol. MMO makers using psychology to hook you only works if you let yourself be hooked.
The guy you replied to said "you don't just step down from being captain of a local team" and such. I did when it began to interfere with my time with my kids, my job and my marriage. I wasn't getting paid to play soccer lol. I think I'm being misread here. People in this thread are using the term "game" as though it equals "no emotional cost, whatever you do." I disagree with that: I think Eve is designed in such a way that that particular definition of "game" doesn't apply here (and isn't meant to: that's what I meant by referring to CCP's stated intent to create a game more meaningful than RL). New Eden is fictitious, but the relationships we strike up with others are real. That's why we invest in them. Or are you going to tell me that, since soccer is "just a game", your team meant nothing to you, and stepping down was no more difficult a decision than walking away from a game of monopoly? Maybe it was, but this clearly isn't for the OP, and I'm arguing that that's entirely ok and understandable. This is not a case where HTFU applies. Other people have made more helpful suggestions. Your spirit is the true shield. |
