Does anyone know a fix to the crash to blackscreen lockup problem? Had the problem for about a week now, after being able to play for five days straight. Now I can't even log in.
Pulled this from the most recent dump file: File created 2006.07.07 21:09:05
7 : blue.Rot: Object "cache:/Browser/Img/1279677975400132808.jpeg" not in ROT and no matching file in resource directory to create from. 6 : {The system cannot find the file specified.} in blue.ResFile: Open failed on "D:\EVE\cache\Browser\Img\1279677975400132808.jpeg" 5 : blue.Rot: Object "cache:/Browser/Img/1279677975400132808.jpeg" not in ROT and no matching file in resource directory to create from. 4 : {The system cannot find the file specified.} in blue.ResFile: Open failed on "D:\EVE\cache\Browser\Img\1279677975400132808.jpeg"
Filed a petition but haven't heard anything in a week.

I get the black screen every so often myself. What happens for me is right in the middle of playing ( I can be docked, flying through space, just chatting in a channel )the screen goes black and I have to reboot my PC.
The fix for me was to delete the machonet folder in the cache directory, then logging onto Eve.

Thanks but I tried that and it didn't work.
I've also done a clean install of Windows with all updates, only installing graphic and sound drivers, but I still have the same problem.
It's very weird because I never had this problem last year when I played Eve and I haven't changed any hardware since then. And to play for 5 days and then not be able to run the client at all is strange.

Look into the Event Log (Control Panel / Admin tools). All the error messages are logged and sometimes link back to the MSFT site for further info. I do get the occasional blue screen / reboot issue with WinXP64bit and a dual core AMD.

There are no errors in the Event log at all. That's why I'm pretty sure this is not related to my system at all, especially after a clean install of Win2K and drivers. But thanks anyway.

I got some new Corsair RAM, which I needed to get, but that didn't solve the crash to blackscreen problem. But I pulled my old Albatron Nvidia TI 4600 from my Dell server after playing on it for a few days. Problem is solved. There seems to be an issue with Nvidia 6600 GT cards.
Special thanks goto GM Tricore for what help was given.
