Edited by: Chip2k3 on 08/07/2006 18:06:04 Edited by: Chip2k3 on 08/07/2006 18:05:31 So I went to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean film the other night...It was pretty good, bit long mind but was quite funny and had its good bits (despite what the new "I Am Ninja" podcast says about it). But alas! to my dismay I found that every time an actiony bit came on the screen I was saying YARR! to everyone near me. Now as you can imagine after the 1st time I did this I was embarrassed as hell.
But no. Next fight scene comes on and theres me, in the cinema going YARR YARR!! to myself. Now I wasnt exactly shouting it, but was speaking loudly enough to be heard by all around me. By the end of the film I think the people around me must have thought it was a sound effect cause as I was leaving I heard someone saying "did you hear all the pirates saying yarr when they had a fight?"
Hope you guys are proud of what you've turned me into

Look at the bright side, it could have been worse if you'd shouted OMFGBBQPWND every time they got their ass whipped.

HAHAHA! I was camping a few days ago with my cousin and her husband and we ended up drinking rum straight from the bottle. It eventually became known simply as "The Yarr".
"Yarr, pass me the Yarr!"
Haha, I know what you mean. ___

I still haven't gone far enough to find myself doing stuff like that, maybe i just need to play more EVE...
Though to be honest, i'm probably better off not saying "YARR!!" in the cinema. |

When I watched it, instead of saying "Yarr" every time a fight scene started, I stabbed someone with a cutlass or shot a blunderbus at them. Don't think I'll be allowed back in that theater. Don't know why, floor was already so sticky with candy the blood shouldn't have made any difference.

That's not so bad...I sometimes worry about sending e-mails out with my EVE name and all that at the end instead of my real one...just to be safe, I added an automatic signature to my e-mails in Outlook so I don't risk putting the wrong one in.
I seriously don't want to have to explain to my bank why Nikolai Nuvolari is e-mailing them from my address, nor what the hell Gilead's Bullet and Kimotoro Directive are... -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

Well, saw this last night and have to say I really enjoyed it. Great action adventure with some really clever scenes and good acting all round (cept maybe the East Empire dude..). I did notice it was maybe a little long, but I only felt that about 10 mins before the end so I think they pulled it off (imo).
I'd recommend it

I know, I do too. Feel kinda bad when I then read the article and find out it's about a pirate boat off coast of Somalia and they just killed an entire family. Also, if they stopped calling my downloading of music "pirating" and started calling it "stealing", I may not be so carefree about it. My only problem with PotC is that every time I see Jack Sparrow I start looking around for his lovable and mentally challenged brother Arnie.

You think that's bad? That's how people recognize me at work when out of visual range, me pulling some heavy load I utter the words 'yarr' or 'motherf***er'.
Remind me about The Maze.
