Have a general query, I started using gila for ratting in nullsec. earlier i was using Tengu. I wanted to try something new, so i am currently trying Gila. My Drone skills are not that good. I am training medium drone operations to 5 and it will be completed in another 8 days. Currently with poor drone skills, i am able to make around 400 DPS using drones. I am able to do decent ratting. I wanted to understand will my T2 Drones increase the dmanage significantly? I have seen people saying, gila's DPS can grow up to 700 only using Drones. Is that true ? if so can you please share the Fit. Eve battleclinic has more PVP centric fits. I am looking for a PVE centric or rather Ratting anomolies centric.
When i was using Tengu,i used to get around 14 - 16m per tick [Tengu DPS - 789 with Rage Missiles]. With Gila and with my low drone skills, i am able to do upto 10m per tick. So if i get a T2 Drones my ISK/hr may go high. That is my overall idea.

I seems to think that with 3 DDAs you get a bit more than 600DPS with T2 Hammers . T2 drones have up to 10% more DPS than T1 but they also have better Speed, Tank and Tracking.
Its pretty much a no brainer that increasing DPS as well as application will lead to an increased reward.
Fits will depend on the types of NPC and the difficult of the site you are running.

2 Rat specific shield hardners
2 Large shield extenders
1 10mn AB
1 Drone navigation comp
4 Rapid light with fury scourge or inferno
3 Core defence field purger II
with hammers and all v skills does 923 dps.

Once you get perfect core skills, etc., you can drop the DCU and add a 4th DDA. With 4 DDA's (faction) and T2 rapid lights, I am getting 1007 DPS from my passive tanked Gila. It will handle sanctums with ease. |

Rapide light is a must on gila, and i think augmented hammerhead can deal a bit more DPS. |

My EFT setup with all level V with hammer II's is around 450 DPS only.
Only sentries give numbers in the 800-900 range. Garde II are in the range of 920 DPS.
However, caring for sentries limit your mobility and compromise the spped tank, or not?
Did I get something wrong?

Update your eft, gila cannot field a sentry drone due to having 20 bandwidth after kronos, but the medium drone bonus makes it do ~630 dps with two hammer IIs and 3x dda II alone.
EDIT: as for 923 dps, it does 823 (908 without reloads) in my eft, probably a typo |

Try to launch a sentry with 20mb of bandwidth then go read patch notes and update eft. |

You can easily get over 800 DPS out of a Gila with no bling. Passive tank can be as high as 450+ ehp/s to certain rats as well.
I would recommend not bothering with augmented drones. They may seem good in paper (higher damage mod), but unlike regular T2 drones they deal mixed damage between 2 types (for example aug hammerheads deal half kinetic half thermal), so in the end they end up dealing less damage than an appropriate T2 drone against the rats you go against. They're also expensive as hell and you will eventually lose them in case you have to gtfo from a gank or something.
