Miss Twinkie Ministry of War Amarr Empire 2	Posted - 2014.08.01 19:07:00 - [1] - Quote I'm sure there's 1000 of these threads, but seeing how we just got another strat op of ishtars called I'm gonna make another thread. Pros - Removing drone assist from the game gives a much needed nerf to the wrecking ball. - Brings back some variation to fleets other than a domi/ishtar blob. (Yup you can fly other things, but it'll die to a good sized ishtar blob) - Drones are still useful, just no longer the I WIN button. - Can no longer just assist drones and take a nap. Cons - Can no longer just assist drones and take a nap. Right now between the drone meta and how horrible the sov system is eve has stagnated. Removing this feature entirely fixes half of that.

The only doctrine we have that uses drones is boot carriers, and we don't use drone assist in any official capacity. Sometimes someone will convo four other carrier pilots to remote sensor boost and assist drones to them, but that's not very common in my experience. We get along just fine with targeting enemies ourselves and commanding our own drones. No, this isn't it at all. Make it more... psssshhhh.

Add: Can grant ewar immunity to other caps. Add: Can use a small number of drones, but those drones are "hero" drones. Small bandwidth not allowing for sentryspam. Super Carriers "DPS" role. Add: "Deploy mode" similar to siege. Add: Can only launch more than 5 fighters in deploy mode based on level. Add: In deploy mode, cannot move, warp, or jump. Remove: EWAR immunity. Add: Greatly increased signature radius in deploy mode. Add: All around general EHP nerf. Add: Reduced build material costs, make them a bit smaller. Remove: Drone assist for supercarriers. Change that module that let's you fly more drones on the carrier into a "fighter coordination unit" which is a highslot version of a DDA or w/e and affects fighter damage not amounts launched. Make DDAs and stuff not affect fighters. Make fighters suck vs anything smaller than a cap. Bombers Just nerf bombs so they don't damage things smaller than caps as much as they do. Use some mathematical magic with signatures and explosion velocity stuffs like you do, CCP. Or turn bombs into single target anti-cap platform. There. Carriers are balanced a bit more. Less dronelagspam. No more sentryspam. Supercarriers have vulnerabilities and are not pwnmobiles and will be more killable. Note: These are off the top of my head musings. Epic Space Cat

Battle ship size weapons with cruiser tracking on a HAC is.

Allow assist for ships, assisting ships try to target and shoot. Restrict Drone Assist to targets of owner of the drones. At the moment it's a pretty weird exception, giving a big advantage not just for real drone fleets but for drone fleets of multiboxers too. With how little else in EVE is automated, i believe i'd rather have drone assist removed completly than get fleets of auto-assisting turret ships too.
