I would like to see the ability of Corporations to cutom design ship from style to module layout including Non module items such as shields/speed/hull/scan resolution etc. The final layout would determine the materials/time/ skill needed to build the ship, as well as the skill needed to pilot it. Then the Corporation could "copyright" or "patent" that design preventing the coping of the BPO or manufacturing of that design by any other corp. This would give market exclusivity to potentially lucrative designs by corporations. As it stands now, everyone builds/buys/flies the same Raven.
The said corporation would hold the rights to that design until it dissolved or sold the BPO to another corp. This would add value to alliances in the consideration of allowing smaller corps into the alliance, since a small corp with a highly sought after BPO patent would be a valuable asset to the alliance.

while this definately would be cool, you have balancing issues that would have to be sorted out, so people don't start designing massively overpowered ships ---

It would have to act as a BPC. A BPC that could have runs added to it and can't be copied. Thus, couldn't be "a BPC". It would probly be best to be a blueprint modification of some kind, to take the Merlin design (for example) and research it or do something to modify it. In modification: select hardpoints and research bonuses for the vessel (any runs currently on the BPC will be reset to "1" and limitations on what you can research into. For example, researching highslots may cause loss of lowslots/researching turret hardpoints will lose missile points) and then researched for a certain amount of runs (max 10 or so). When the design comes out, the vessel itself is painted in a 3-color camo scheme that matches the corporation that made the blueprint mod. Upon activation on an assembly line, the blueprint is no longer able to be modified and is good for 10 or so builds of the vessel before the process needs to be repeated. Upon construction, the vessel is auto-named "corpticker Merlin" (ex. "SNIGG Merlin").
Isk cost would be high and so would the amount of time to make the blueprint mod effective. This would give pirates the new meaning of "making the ultimate tackler".
Players would not be able to write a decription (to avoid abuse) and it would simply state the role of the ship (which the player can choose) and the corporation that made the ship.
This would add a new element ship design and ways to make Isk through selling ship designs as well and the making of corp-issued tech or player flagships and personal vessels.

it would be a prototype bpc with only one run and the theing you do with it is that it has the same nuber of slots you just pick wht type they are like you could make a kresil have a turret sots

The only danger is if someone mods a ship to get around pg/cpu requirements. E.g if they plan of fitting no more than 6 tach, drop the 2 high slots into low/mids to over power the thing --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

The alternative is higher base stats. I'll take T3 as specalised ships instead, thanks.
