As many know the statue at Jita will be displayed with severe damage once we get Crucible, the result of the Jita riots. CCP, this gave me an idea....
Make the statue an actual object that can be damaged. Give it no shields, a huge amount of armor with high resists, and an invulnerable hull. Start the expansion with the armor half damaged.
Now let us players decide to shoot or rep it. Over the days the armor damage will grow or shrink. Maybe eventually you can adjust its appearance based on the damage level, but that's for later. Also for later you could make the statue interactive, giving people who click on it the statue's history, pictures of it in various states, and so on. Interactive like Site One in Eram, or just a link to a Wiki page.

Make a good method for players to give a way of showing how they feel they're doing so far. Like if they do really good the statue will be higher armor. Other way, more bad. |

I can tell you right now, that no matter what happens people will shoot it just because they can.
I like CCP's implementation better. A monument is supposed to reflect a historical moment, not be used as a public survey. |

The damage is more of a reminder of the past; not so much a changing story or PI device, more of a reminder of the cost of failure.

How about you shut up and get back in your box... CCP are focussing (quite well now in my opinion) of delivering a better product. Lets not divert them from delivering that outcome... The statue artwork change was a nice easy, frivolous change, probably done to give the Art department for a little light relief... Thats all.. |
