Edited by: HHschmid on 10/07/2006 18:55:41 Edited by: HHschmid on 10/07/2006 18:54:27 i use the carrier mostly for supporting fleets from pos and i think there are many things which need a look at
basicly carrier job is a boring job you sit at pos whole day and the only entertainment is ts and killmails, thats why not many use them at all. So i have a suggestion for making carrier more fun
for example a "look at" option for fighters in distance space would be great so the carrier pilot would be able to see what happening at battlefield and to his fighters atm the carrier pilot isnt able to see if his fighters get damage if they are not in local space so he can only hope that the pilots who use them take a look at them. loosing fighters isnt fun not because they are expensive i think the price is just fair but the size of fighters is a pain in the ass and you need a station to to put the fighter in your drone bay i am not sure if it works if their is another carrier. Also i dont understand why drone control units need to be activated even if they dont use energy at all if you put one offline you loose control of one fighter carrier is a support ship and is also used for transfering stuff so i dont understand why a dreadnought with cargo expander can even haul more then a carrier.
so let me know what you guys think about or if you have other suggestions about carrier, fighters and modules

My thanatos's can carry about 63K m3 of gear plus about 5 frigs so long as end point is a outpost not a pos, can jump further than any dread with same skills and for less fuel costs. Without GSC's its not far behind any of the dreads in terms of cargo space.
Your idea's are good though... I want to know what is happening to my fighters when they are not in local space.
I just wish when docking and undocking it didn't close all your GSC window's... :P
I hate how the carriers sometimes CTD for no apparent reason when other clients on the same machine are perfect. I have even gone to the extreme of making the eve.exe files that are the carrier clients a high priority in terms of system resources and they still crash out at times. I can't see how the CTD is client side related.. even running a solo machine just for carrier client CTD's.. anyway.. They are fun machines

Edited by: twit brent on 13/07/2006 11:28:25 Yeah I got some drone control units and spent 5 minutes wondering why I couldnt launch more fighters till i clicked the module. I have used my carrier in a few small scale engagements and it is alot of fun. No more than 13-14 enemy though.

tux or tomb said that carriers will be looked as as he does not want people sitting at safespots with them which he thinks is boring , so expect some kind of boost eventually that will be aimed at getting carriers onto the front lines.

Well my personal opinion is that any capital ship should be nigh-invulnerable until it runs out of cap or is met with anti-capital ship weapons.
But then again I played a lot of Wing Commander. ------------------------ I don't believe in sigs. |
