I was just wondering how everyone was keeping track of all their taxs and installing costs now that they have an actual impact to item price.
I'm running a corp that the Install fee means either the corp or the members don't get paid what I'd agree is a reasonable reward, as well as the lack of BPC's being sold now meaning production is tight. Very tight. Even in a system with 2% tax.
I used to use IPH but that is out dated atm, Fuzzwork is good atm but doesn't save cache meaning you have to thumble around with things a lot. I've tried remaking and modifying some of my old spreadsheets but I still haven't got a solid way to work out exact Profit after all costs.
It's feel like a guessing game. |

I'm currently writing my own application for everything industry related. I'm keeping track of all journal and transaction activities of my characters and store everything in a database and generate summaries for several intervals. I can tell you exactly how many ISK each character has spend/earned for what activity, but keeping an exact track of profits made from manufacturing and selling is a little bit more difficult. You'd have to link buy orders to manufactured items and then to sell orders in order to calculate the exact numbers. And while data mining itself is quite easy thanks to the API, connecting everything is tricky... Not saying, it's not doable.
Still working on a blueprint calculator for the new formulas, since relying on IPH is currently not possible. While the UI changes are mostly great, lots of formulas and some of the mechanics have changed, and it's still a real pain that you have to rely on 3rd party tools to make long-term plans for manufacturing... But I can live with that. |

Personally I think the UI changes have made things slow and confusing =D
I've been working on a spreadsheet. http://i.gyazo.com/42adec1b2420bf05ad9e046012a4b7a6.png It's also going to be used for organising payouts in corp. But I have to use Fuzzworks or eve-Industry to get all the data =D then enter it manually |

Yes and no. It still needs some polish, but it's way faster to start invention and manufacturing jobs now than before. Especially invention has gotten a significant reduction in clicks. And yeah, spreadsheets... I'm still working with some from time to time, but all in all it's rather annoying. There are so many different apis out there providing all the data you require. All you need is some programming skills and enough time to put it all together and run some calculations, and I currently have both, so I started writing my own app for my personal needs. Far from being finished, but so far it has served me quite well. |

I don't keep track of install cost. Here's what my sheet looks like
I calculate the cost by using the biggest system cost index and go from there. If at the time of the job, the index is smaller, no biggie, just means my margin is slightly bigger if any. Signature removed, CCP Phantom |

i make sure my ingame estimated margins are at least "good" and preferably "obscene" thanks to my excellent nullsec factories and local supplies of materials and just wing it |

You're basically talking about FIFO costing, which is *hard*. I use 30-day weighted average costs and assign them to transactions at the time of sale. Not perfect, but over time has proved to be fine.

right now it's all done via spreadsheet, but I'm working on having it all come from the api/crest/databases. then I'm going to let my corp mates in on the fun. |
