Edited by: Kakita Jalaan on 12/07/2006 13:43:20 I just received the eve mail below. When will GTC / ISK conversion finally be banned?
2006.07.12 13:25 hi, mate, Do you or your corp ever need ISK ? To support the war you are fighting, to get T2 BPO/items , to build Titan or other large ship/POS... Maybe you could try www.GameYeah.com ,we just want to help to make the life in EVE more colorful and easier ! We offer free eve tools and guides, also we offer EVE Time Code at low price ! EVE Time Code : only USD 14.95/30 days code (Euro 11.69) USD 38.95 / 90 days code (Euro 30.45 ) Best Regards (edited out home pages of *bleep*ing *bleep*s )
P.S.: How to get ISK without any risk ? Buy Eve time code and then sell them to other players for ISK at official site ( www.eve-online.com ---> Forums---> Eve Marketplace--->Sell orders), Which is totally allowed by CCP ! You don't need to worry about anything ! ______________ Join the Family |

Yeah, and cause they don't get enough exposure mass mailing it.... you post it on the forums as well... just petition them or something... but this isn't helping.

Rest assured, I did petition them. I just want to raise community awareness, that the GTC / ISK conversion is the SAME as real life cash for ISK, which is banned by EULA. And I don't care whether this has been posted yesterday (on page 3.345.123 by now), topics that concern people who ruin this game should be on the front page until something's done about it.
I'll edit out the details in my original post so as to not advertise for them. ______________ Join the Family |

I bet they must love ppl like you. Not only you guys keep posting their ads on forums to spread it between as many Eve players as possible, but you also include links to their websites - they couldnt have better advertising.

Sounds like some EvE players got jilted by GTC issues and decided to outlaw GTC sales. ---------------- RecruitMe@NOINT!

Edited by: Kakita Jalaan on 13/07/2006 07:36:23 If you think I was scammed and post because of my frustration about it, you are mistaken Jenny. I never bought GTCs, this way or that. Oh, and sorry to all flamers for missing the 2nd instance of the home page, removed it now.
The main point is the blatant inconsequence on CCP's part, outlawing the selling of ISK for RL cash to the point of banning people from the game for it, and STILL allowing this obvious workaround.
Let's compare two versions of the same thing:
للللللل--- ISK --> player ----------- ISK buyer ----------- CCP :-( <-- $$$ ---
--- ISK --> --- $$$ --> player ----------- GTC seller ----------- CCP :-) <-- GTC --- <-- GTC ---
edit: ok, ascii art doesn't work here... but I guess the point is clear
For both the player and the GTC seller, the result is the same. Player loses ISK and gets real life cash, or an equivalent of real life cash in the form of a freely sellable GTC. GTS seller gets ISK, loses money. In the second case, he simply passes along a GTC bought (indirectly or directly) from CCP.
Now if the only reason this sort of RL cash/ISK conversion is still allowed is the fact that CCP make some extra money, I'm disappointed and sad. Raise the subscription fee by a $ or so, but please forbid this conversion completely and without blatant loopholes.
Why do people think there are macroers in Eve? Because they want some extra M in their wallet? Sure, there are lazy people who want reward for no effort, but I think the REAL motivation of organized macroers is simply RL cash.
The guys who sent me the spam mail surely are not selling their GTCs for about 2/3 of the price you would pay in a shop, because they bought them from CCP and want to pass them on at reduced price because they're such altruists. These are people who buy lots of GTCs via macroed ISK and resell them for RL cash, simple as that.
Also, I entered "eve game time code" in Google, intending to check how much they cost in stores (since the official store was down just now). Half of the first couple hits were links to stores who sell them, and the other half was links to ebay, lycos and assorted sites, where GTCs are auctioned (most often insta sold). Incidentally, 2 of the 3 auctions I clicked also had stuff like "other articles from this seller: X isk for Y $$$". Allowing GTC sales is just making the life of these parasites easier, and giving them more customers, because after all, part of their business is now COMPLETELY LEGIT! ______________ Join the Family |

You are very wrong. I did not say nor imply you were scammed. I said, some players might be unhappy with CCP's stance on GTC sales, etc. and decided to end GTC sales by making an issue out of it. Does fit the modus operandi of those players. I did not out-rule the spam could have come from an ISKs seller. I only present an out of the box idea.

If they modify things so that players buying GTCs with isk, cannot sell them for cash, then one part of the problem (players getting cash for isk) is solved. |

well i mean obvioulsy the issue is getting bigger due to previous inaction - i dont thing its as big a problem as making out the main uproar is the evemail spam (which can simply be canned by blocking that particular website xxxx.com from any evemails at all if any are sent with that phrase in it they dont reach the recipant quite simple

heres a thought the people who post the forums who have links to the website selling the isk/whatever are indeed the isk sellers them self!!!
just a thought i mean no publicity is bad publicity and is they have the link to thier site well... u think about it
common sence dictates dont post the web add on the forum when u have a moan but is its there even for a fwe minuits b4 a dev nerfes his ad well mission accomplished...
solution if u post ANOTHER add about spam bots with the likj to the web page in the add ban them aswell for advertising a known exploit

Dear Mr. Troll alt, don't try to obfuscate your own role in this issue. Post with your main if you have anything to say, and don't start half baked threads like the one currently on the front page about how sweatshops don't really exist.
For all others, I recommend reading Rod Blaine's excellent thread, proposing how to legimitize the trading of GTCs for ISK in such a way that it can be controlled by CCP, and taking away the possibility of ISK - money conversion. Even Oveur thought it was a good idea (at least he said so on page 3, at the end of last year's november). Now, what about finally implementing this excellent idea? It's not like half a year hasn't passed since then? ______________ Join the Family |

w00t, sounds like a nice deal. Legit ISK to replace 3bil scammed from me. Nice ..
Whats wrong with GTC sales people? If you have cash, burn it. Your all just jealous that someone can spend IRL cash on games. I spend 3500ا on one MUD I played some time ago. So what? It's my cash ffs, if I get advantage by it don't whine about it. You have same opportunity to get isk by cash. If your poor IRL, get a job or something. Stop whining about your situation and try to get others nerffed for just having fun.
