Warp Core stabs seem to **** off many players. But what if you needed cap to activate them. Make WCS to use cap in relation to ship size.
Not overly strong cap use but enough to make you think twice about fitting them naturally you would need to activate them as well. perhaps allow constant active state as well.
What say you ? I know many of you say NO that is totally expected.
Anyways great summer for everyone. .

Yes please. And give it a visual representation so you can see when they activate stabs. -----

Yes...
As long as they consume the same capacitor amount as warp scramblers. If there's gonna be a penalty, that penalty should match the device that its countering.

Active medium slot +2 stabs... Behold the unscramblable Badger!
Sounds okay to me. You'd see more stabs on haulers, and fewer on combat ships.

Competent players already think twice about fitting them. For armor tankers, they gimp their tank. For haulers, they gimp their capacity. For everyone else, they gimp something.
So no. ----------

Um...no. Haulers don't have the cap to support it, and one nos hit and their WCS go offline.
And you realise you now have Tempests with several of these, several sensor boosters, a tank, damage mods AND a full arty loadout?

Nos hurts smaller ships too much as it is. Please no. We don't need a nos buff. -----------------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Kyuzo on 25/07/2006 00:37:20 its a players ability to bail on a fight when ever they like which is the annoying bit... but i dont think warp core stabs are the problem...
maybe CCP could introduce a new weapon all together... like some sort of 'tag' weapon... when it hits the target.... it leaves some sort of tracking device on them for X minutes allowing you to locate what system they are in as well as allowing u to warp to there location in the system.
obviously needs some balancing... like the tag could require charges like the interdictor sphere launcher (maybe more costly to manufacture)... maybe with a lengthy firing delay... and each time the ship takes damage... there is a chance that the 'tag' might be destroyed.... maybe... whilst the tag is active it could consome X cap per Y seconds...
just an alternative... cause I think players who fit 2-3 WCS.. deserve the right to be able to warp.. they do compromise alot for it...

I don't see how this solves anything aside from making Nos or energy disrupter a must. You see a Pirate, you activate your stabs, heck clever players will move them F1-8, :P People with lots of stabs will still get away, people who want to be able to fight will still gimp themselves using them, or realize that hey, stabbs gimp my tank/dammage/whatever to heck with em I'm going down shooting.
Piracy is legitimate but it hard, and rightly so. Be glad your right to blast haulers is so rigourusly defended. Leave the poor stabs alone.

Edited by: Qui Chen on 25/07/2006 00:50:31 coincidence principle would be nice! exactly the same like Jammers!
but also the cap-idea is good.

Heheheh. I'd rather see stabs give a penalty to combat performance, like a 5% reduction in shield and armor HP per level, or a reduction in booster/repper output, or a hit to targeting distance or scan resolution or...
Just make them totally impractical on combat ships, but not too inconvenient for haulers, etc.
