Personally, I think the worst posts are the ones that take entire pages to say only a few things.
Trying to deal with long winded authors and heavily repeated statements with no actual responsiveness within them can be a real pain. Often I end up ignoring posts simply because I come to realize that they are truely not saying anything that I haven't already heard several times. I can even remember a particular example of recent, when a person made extremely long posts, pretending to be making a useful argument and complaining about how others don't listen and/or were trolling, when really, they were the one trolling (and quite well I might add) by arguing verbosely with every post made. Many of the things they said failed to match their claimed point, and little was accomplished beyond the fattening of their post count, and the increase in word count upon the page. So, now I wonder if this post was yet long enough to make my silly point, and wonder if anyone will bother reading this far. Without any paragraphing, I'm kinda hoping people will realize that most of this typing was just to fill in space and basically become an example of the very thing that I was just complaining about in my first sentance. The overly wordy posts that make no real point beyond a repetition of previous ones, and a denouncement of other's belifs. Beliefs that most often are better backed and reasoned than the ones that oppose them. The reasoning of course is a very important part of a post, if one wishes to argue over what particular belief is best to believe, and when one wishes to make others believe them.

I've never read so many kack responses condensed into such a short page. If ever there was an opportunity to initiate a genuinely constructive debate on the subject (which is unlikely given the broad spectrum of forum observers) it has long since diminished - my sympathies to the op.

The three worst kinds of posts on the forums are the ones that take too long to say something simple, take too short to say something complex, and those that respond selectively to parts of someone else's post while ignoring the more important parts.

Overall I have to say that i'm impressed by the level of maturity on these forums, it's simple enough for me to ignore those posts which are aimed upset or incite anger.
I know that if I have something I want to talk about it will be talked about, these forums are a friendly place where I have come to feel like I really know some of the frequent posters, Myself I don't post as often as i'd like but that tends to be because I lack knowledge in the discussion so I choose not to include myself.
Please people, the original poster was simply expressing that it sometimes feels as though the general level of decent posts is decreasing, and this is a worrying thought, I don't want these boards to become mindless like so many others have.
There is a real sense of togetherness on these forums sometimes and that is a wonderful thing, so many people being together and talking about things that interest them in constructive ways, personally I don't feel that anything bad will happen to the board, there will always be the higher circles of the community to lend shape to them and the problem makers will eventually fall off.
Anyway.. i'm sorry if this made no sense, i'm very tired right now.

Well, I'm at work and bored. I sometimes check the EVE forums for the latest gossip/news/info and yes, a lot of the forum content is junk. But it's usually interesting and/or humourous junk. I'm of the opinion that you deliberatly started this thread not as a rant against the forum, but to see how people would respond. I can see no other reason. To set up a post like this is suicide. Who of the right mind is going to actually reply positively to this? A good analogy would be if a man with long unkempt hair walks into a barber shop and rants at the customers for wanting their hair cut. Either the man is insane or attention seeking.

Actually it was inspired by this Thread where a bunch of tards instead of giving the newbie feedback thought it would nice to just belittle him. So I thought I would point out to them and their idiot friends that a post is a little more then just 'lolz' or 'you suck'. And I stand by that.
And Im not afraid of this forum or its *****s. I'll post what I want, when I want, where I want as long as I am allowed. Thanks.
