Let me just say I had a Dominix for many months and it was a great ship. As a level 1 Battleship it had 5 medium slots. Now that I have a level 2 shouldn't it also have 5 maybe 6, but no more than that. Don't get me wrong I think its a great ship, but I would like to see a larger difference between lvl1 and lvl2 seeing how a lvl2 cost almost double that of a lvl1.
It was nice of the Dev's to add a low slot to it. If no else agrees thean thats ok too. Just a oppinion and everyone has them. Anyway I know the Dev's have their hands full doing ather thing to make EVE more stable. Thanks

Ermm you bought it so you must have liked it? Bit late to complain now eh?
Anyway - wrong forum. Try the Ships and Modules forum.....
PS - the mega is probably the worst level 2 BS in the game. I reckon that's fair as the Dominix is probably the best all-round L1 BS

id disagree agrizla. each bs has its ups and downs. people can outfit them to be lethal in many ways. all in all i have to give whoever manages the balance of the ships in EVE some credit as ive not seen any one to be overpowered. some modules have been, maybe, but thats up for debate.

Crimsonjade : quite true - hence why I said "probably the worst". I'm gallente and it isn't on my "shopping list" I quite accept that you could fit it out well, but to me it's like most Gallente ships - a bit too much of a compromise. I'd prefer to just buy the ship that suits the job you want to do. Eg - I have a Dominix and it is a perfect ship for PvE, but I'm not sure I'd want to do any PvP in it. So I use another for that.

i agree megathron is a joke, its just a crappier version of the apoc. But its mainly cos hybrid weapons arent as good as lasers.

Umm large hybrids are the equivalent of using an electric catapult right now - you need ammo, power, and it misses a lot

If the Scorpion doesn't get another med slot i'll quit and no one can have my stuff. CCP obviously has no clue about gamedesign.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

No, the Mega is not a joke if the pilot knows how to use it. So no, it should absolutely not have another med slot.
Edit, but I do agree that large hybrids are crap. The reasons are:
*Blasters needs more trackingspeed.
*Railguns cant be used the way they are supposed to because the "optimal range" penalty on hybrid ammo is too much.

i have a mega and i love it but i would like to see an extra med slot, but i am not that bothered it is a good ship.

Sorry to say that but a single Blackbirds makes your Megatron to junk in lower then 1 minute

LMAO. Then you have no clue about anything. If that happens I'm truely happy. Such players should not be in battleships. Only proves that it is far to easy to get the most expensive ships in this game.

Man you all are a rough crowd lol. 1. I really like the Mega. 2. I hade a Dom, but missed using missles and Torps. 3. Dom's can be used in PVP. 4. I am Gallente and choose to stay Gallente. 5. I have the skills to use it. 6. It was just an oppinion. ONCE AGAIN for those that missed it in the post I THINK THE MEGA IS A GREAT SHIP!!.. Different ships for different things. Wow people relax. I like both the Dom and the Mega..  They both ROCK

How would a blackbird turn a megathron into junk in 1 minute?
Not even 3 H-50 arbalests launching torpedos vs. non-hardened shields/armor would do enough damage in a minute, it's not like 3 turrets would be twice as good, now is it?
More like that 8 heavy drones with 8x18 damage every 2 secs (4320 damage/minute) will trash the blackbird first.

Err, maybe a few blackbirds, but not one. I am not sure a single blackbird could get through the shields in a resonable ammount of time. :)

Sorry, but in Fleetcombat a single Blackbird neutralizes 2 BSs easy. 3m hardware makes 200m defenceless junk

But if the opponents are organised, that blackbird using 6 ECM's in his med slots will be shot down in notime.

isnt the point that the hyrbid guns are crap
but that the drone bay makes up for it?

Hybrids suck, thus the Megathron sucks. The Megathron is has a lot of firepower so I don't think it should have another medium slot, it would make the Dominix 100% useless. I'm not a fan for making tier1 bships completely made useless by tier2, all ships should have their role. Megathron sacrifices the extra versatility of the Dominix for more firepower, plain and simple.
Megathron with lasers (aka 90% of current megathron users right now) is just a guy who is better off using an Apocolypse.
Fix hybrids. There's the problem..

What Mega needs is to be able to use all 8 turrets as high slots.
It would make a great mining BS.
But anyway, everywhere i look people say how they owned Mega in their ship and it does look horible as fighting ship.
Solution would be to reduce range penalty on hybrid ammo.
Improve hybrid turrets themselves.
425mm rails are joke as it is any kind of blasters for short range.
Also reason for other ship to be so much better is that some of the new lasers are very powerfull and now torpedos and cruise missiles do lots of damage too.

2 dampner are finally enough. So 4 dampners, 2 Med Slots left the Targeting range is down to low 20km-25km. The Blackbird has 3 Misslelauchers and so it is a long range combat ship with firepower. 6 Torps bring down the shield of a Apoc

"Neutralizes" has to include warp distruption, though. There is no point in bringing their targetting range down to 20-25km as you have to be within that in order for them to not just warp away.

What can I say you are noob, or you are never fly a Mega. I fought in Mega vs 3BS and almost manage to kill Typhoon ( ask Cobra from Collective ) a little bit more skills and good equipment that what I doesn't had that time. So stop whining about that one ship is usless, every ship is usefull you just need to know it. And if you do not, then shut up

I am still trying to work out why you think that 2 blackbirds killing a megathron makes it a bad ship as far as i can tell 2 blackbird can take down any battleship. Much more to the point come find me in game and try it see how long your blackbirds last against my drones, i think not that long. The reason why i think this is i was playing around on the test server with a mate in his scorp and my drones shreaded him down to 15% structure before he killed them. The fight then contined for another 1 1/2 hours before we called it draw after he lauched 800 heavy missles at me.
