As one of those with research alts, (not gona tell you how many :P) I can tell you that this is not the case for me anyway. But it is a probability that those with more R&D agents will be more sucessful. If I put the effort, missions and training time, then of course I should be more likely to win than someone who just has one R&D agent. And as kail will bring use for those RP then its effort not wasted, there is no reason to panic.

I just hope all the time I have put into R&D with my 2 accounts hasn't been wasted. I'd like to be able to use the accumulated RP's for something worthwhile down the road.

I was looking at at least 2 more months of "possible" wining a BPO. Now I will to wait for the guys that have had agents for 2-3 years to burn up thier RPs so I have a chance of biding on and wining a BPO under the Kali (?) system.
I am an Alt looking for my own way.

It's just a patience thing folks.
CCP have got plans (tm) for research in Kali. So your RP points can be used then.
I'd imagine they are waiting to see what happens in the medium to long term after these plans before they increase the number of blueprints for things like HACs CR2s and cloaks.
As for them re-releasing destroyed blueprints, fingers crossed they do that at some point in the future.

Personally, I'd be quite happy with a limited run BPC, maybe 2 run just so that I could actually use the skills I trained.

u should obviously have kept seeding more bpos until everyone who has an r&d agent got one.

I would like to point out that CCP has not done anything mischievious or evil. AFAIK, BPO's have always come out in batches, and all available BPO's have now run out....There will be more in the future. You could say that it's just bad timing for those that are just now starting research agents, BUT you could also say it's good timing, because now they'll have some points built up to use with the Kali improvements. The research system has always kinda sucked. Kali will fix that (at least somewhat.)

I had a lot of choices, up to 20 BPOs for missles and rockets and such on the agents I was training for on Tuesday but by the time I had the training finished Thursday night, they were all gone.
I just find it very strange it all happen at once, like they removed them during DT or something.

because during the static update that took place on the wednesday the information associated with each of the research fields was updated.

NOT EVERYONE WILL GET ONE
and u dont even have todo anything except train a fer skills and pay 40m isk for a skill book

The devs decide how many BPO of each type will be available.
They drop them into the lottery.
Every hour or couple of hours the lottery takes place.
The winner gets an evemail with the offer, valid for a week or five days.
The BPO is removed from the list of available BPO at the next DT.
If he doesn't accept in time, the BPO drops back into the lottery and reappears in the list with the next DT.
Rumour: Destroyed BPO are reseeded.

Seriously. . .can I smack you upside your thick head?
People understand it is a lottery, but it is rather lame to be a new player. . .train up the skills. . .grind the missions. . .and then find out that your .000000000001% chance of getting a T2 BPO went to 0% because there are none. . .period.
Who knows how long until Kali is out? 6 months? A year? And when Kali does get here there is STILL a HUGE chance I won't ever receive one.
If CCP wanted to make the R/D thing a pipe-dream they've done a great job. How hard would it be to throw out some worthwhile BPCs? Heck, maybe they could even let the agents hand out rare ships. . .heck, unrare ships for all I care. At least that way you get something for all your time and effort. Is that too much to ask?

If I hadn't been spending this time training skills for R/D I would be able to fly a HAC right now. . .

then if you'd like RPM to 4 or w/e
plus you have to grind COSMOS missions/lvl 3s until 6.7 standing (at least w/ Lai Dai for the nicest agent)
So is it a lifelong investment or something? No. Is it a significant amount of time/effort? I'd say yes.

Seems to me that the Devs said at the Eve Gathering in March that the BPO action would be a one time thing, mainly to get rid of most of the RPs.
(I repalayed the podcast today and Overue did say that )
So does that mean RPs will become totaly useless after that??

While I had nothing predictable shown in Graviton Physics, I got awarded a Precision Cruise BPO (25K RP) just 2 days ago

This means either someone was awarded a BPO but never got to accept it and so it was put back into the pool, or the predictable BPO list is bugged. Unlikely as there are no bugs in Eve.

ffs, I've had a research agent since 1 month after they were introduced. In that time there have been at least 3 major updates/bpo releases. I haven't had a single offer yet.
It's a lottery, and the good prizes come and go, with no guarantee that you'll win anything at all.
Get used to it, or train something else, taking a 'me me me' attitude will only disapoint.

Got Gremlin Rage BPO yesterday, from my lvl2 agent that I started and forgot about!
The field was laser physics, it was æNothing easily PredicableÆ as well.
But I donÆt mind means I can start a better agent and leave that running for another 2years..

No, those BPOs where given out over a course of Months (since RMR release)... Actually it happened before (end of 2005 was sort of barren, too), so nothing special to be honest :)
