In fact, I double dirty-dog dare you to:
Find a non-CCP web connection and attempt to use these forums and do the following:
- Stay logged in for more than 5 page loads.
- Post a reply w/o saving your post to the clipboard first, and have it actually post.
- Logout, then log in via the login page and NOT get caught in an endless page redirect loop.
Then take what you learned, and then PLEASE FIX THE DAMN FORUMS! it's been like this for months.

It is getting a bit tiresome to keep logging in again and again, and loosing short posts, etc.
What is going on?

Cookies aren't the problem.
I downloaded Opera just to try a new browser and see if it was Firefox causing the problem. Opera exhibited the same behavior.
I am never able to post without logging in, writing the post, copying the post, logging in yet again, pasting the message that I copied, and then - and only then - hitting "Post Reply."

Don't you people realize that this is not a bug or a nerf but a stealth forum mechanic to eliminate forum lag to allow favored forum warriors to have fleet/faction forum wars.

I think the network problems are far more annoying. Sometimes i cannot connect to this site at all. Not sure if its a BGP problem still.

It sucks, but I don't have that much trouble with it.
In fact, I can write a post, submit it and get an error, go 'Back' through the post to the thread, refresh to see if there has been another reply, and 'Forward' to the post to submit it again w/o retying with no problems.

Hell no... phpBB is the least worst, maybe, if I'm being charitable.
Need some free forums software made with the same philosophy as Gallery2 IMO - clear code, good plugin interface, easily skinnable etc
Edit: ROFL, got logged out whilst trying to post this and had to reenter it 
Edit2: And a 500 server error when doing the edit :D

it's become almost impossible for me to use these forums recently and that makes me sad, I enjoy talking with all you guys. I hope something is fixed soon, it's a shame that the service isn't working correctly.
Most of the time I simply get a server timed out error.

i would say the forums are important. Not only are they the source of infomation but also the first place any new player will go to for advice info and to DL the client. Oh this time it only took me 2 time to post this, i think thats a record.

dunno whether its the forums or network probs again or maybe even both? but i havnt been able to log into the forums for the last 2 hours and its taken 7 attemps to post this

Well I stay logged in once I login for the duration of the session. (I don't keep it set to remember my login).
However what is getting tiresome is that I click on a link, like to a dev BLog, and then it asks for a password. No problem there. But then it takes me back to the original page I was on instead of the target page. Or even worse, it redirects me to a seemingly random page. Well not entirely random, it's either the player news page or the homepage....
Thing is, I can reproduce this login behaviour both with my two home systems and my two systems at work...
