After basically AFKing for a year or more because busy and stuffz I really really want to do Gallente FW and have read all the guides and would like to believe I know most of the mechanics and stuff, , I also have about 80 pre-fit frigates of various flavours ready to lose in glorious space esplosionz.
My only real question is what are the good systems to base out of (atleast initially) lately?
Most of the guides/threads I've read mention stuff like Villore/Old man star for first systems to base out but the last time I looked at the in-game FW map and the Dotlan map the Caldari seemed to own nearly everything and were doing some extreme farming, now Gallente seems to own almost everything including Tama, and the old 'recommended' initial base systems seem like they're a very long way away from the actual warzone.
So I was just looking for some current recommendations on where to initially live and weather it should be a border Hisec system or right in lowsecks? 
Edit: I also have a neutral hauler alt so trade hub proximity doesn't matter (and the cal/gal warzon seems to be very near jita anyway) |

Villore is pretty common as a starting base, but you would be better-off joining a player-run GalMil corp, who will likely have their own preferred staging system. Different groups with different goals and different styles will prefer different staging systems.
Ransoms are accepted in Isk, Ships, Mods, and Dolls. |

Simple, join the faction and ask around. Plenty of good FW people in Gal-Mil that can help you out.
