Hey.
I'm not a person who are going on vacations outside of my country (Norway). Because of that, i have recently been more intrested in places where i would love to visit in the future.
In my younger days when i was around 14-15 years old (i'm 30 now), i was down in Lanzarote (Canary Islands) where everything was new to me. I remember everything from that trip and i simply fell in love with that place. But as i love Lanzarote and the place around Lanzarote, i also got more intrested in the neighbor islands.
So i found out that there is an island called 'Fuerteventura' (neighbor island to Lanzarote). I then started to look at different videos from Fuerteventura on YouTube and fell completely in love with that place to.
So i found this video that shows the beauty of Fuerteventura: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2TEHuuOcuw
And today i just stumbled upon this amazing video from Fuerteventura: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lyp6UK7CUg
That place is just.........beautifull and really nice in so many ways.
So as i want to see where you others have your vacation paradises so i can see if other places will interest me, then tell me about what places that are your vacation paradise and please share a video from the place to if you can?
One of my closest friend here i live is going to Rhodos on sunday on his summer vacation. And that place also looks really nice.
So please share where your vacation paradises is . Here is a list of my current EVE / PVP videos.

Vacation paradise? In a word: home.
Aside from the annual trip to Iceland I practically never go on holidays except when someone drags me along (for major family birthdays and the like). Not that I'm miserable while I'm there (I enjoy the sights and local culture (nearly) as much as the next man), I just can't be bothered to go anywhere.
However, If I were to go anywhere it would probably be a tour around Europe to look at... engineering. For example, I've long wanted to visit Bremerhaven and see U-2540 (I'm a bit of a WW2 buff).
Well, that or just go wherever the roads take me. To simply start driving and see where I end up is an appealing idea... Truly, you have a dizzying intellect. |

Cradle Mountain.
Used to make a yearly sojourn (at least), but it's been a couple years since I last visited.
I don't know if there's really such a thing as 'magic', but there is absolutely something indescribable in the air of that place.

i can only speak for places i have been to. i've not been outside of the united states so far. the outer banks of north carolina has been the pinnacle of vacations for me to date. my ex-boyfriends family owns a beach house out there. beautiful and relatively remote. peaceful with very few people around. something to be said for waking up in the morning and going for a walk and basically having the entire stretch of sand as far as you can see in either direction completely to yourself.
but there are some places i've never been that i believe i would love to go to. trinidad and tobago. the greek islands. italy. alaska. south pacific islands. maybe mexico/central america to see inca and mayan ruins. |

Fuerteventura is a beautiful island and I strongly recommend you visit (the videos are nice but don't really do it justice). We last visited in 2004 and stayed on the east coast in Caleta de Fuste. The town was friendly, the beach gorgeous (if for the occasional low flying aircraft - the airport is only a few miles away) and the weather perfect. I would definitely suggest a visit to the sand dunes just south of Corralejo just for the experience, it's like being in a desert but much closer to water!
Personally, I want to go to Fiji and I'm hoping to get there in the next 5 years once I've saved enough money for the travel costs from the UK

Santorini, Greece.
Amazingly blue water, a clear, cloudless sky, viewed from your perch on the caldera of an ancient volcano. You sit and watch the cruise ships come in, cutting a small hunk of feta cheese and placing it with a locally-grown olive in your mouth. A small sip of the local roset washes it down, while you watch the waves. You'll go out walking in the mild evening air, but later. For now, a bite of cucumber and a deep breath of the clean sea breeze.
On Santorini, it never rains, it mists. The grapes they grow there make fantastic white wines, that go well with the day's catch. The beaches are beautiful, and the sunsets are some of the most amazing you will ever see. From a look out atop the high point of the largest island, near the church, my new wife and I watched the sun melt into the Aegean sea. We saw the Green Ray for the first, and possibly last time in our lives.
If you get the chance, go. |

Island of Kauai for me.
Not sure why but it just feels so right for me. So far away from everything!
Helps that I have a good friend that grew up on the island so he takes me to all the off beat spots. Untouched private beaches (its amazing how many sea shells are on the beaches that nobody goes too!), local and underground bars, riding choppers up the canyon roads etc.
Love that place. |

Caye Caulker in Belize.
No cars, people drive around (mostly they walk) in golf carts Island is just large enough for a prop plane to land Nice diving Relaxed atmosphere, bohemian etc. Not resort like. People speak English in Belize Every year they have lobsterfest: they pull up so much lobster that you get it in your omlette for breakfast. Also, the stone crab they have there is delicious. Bali, Indonesia. I hope it's not spoiled now, I visited there many years ago as a cheap backpacker. Just beauty everywhere, garden-like tropical foliage, terraced rice fields, beaches of all colors of sand, volcanoes, lakes. Good food and nice people.
But mainly, there's just so much art everywhere. Check out some gamelan music, if you don't know it already. Pretty intense. That video just shows the musicians. The dancers telling a stylized abstract stories from the Ramayana, or doing the kebyar warrior dance, or the barong lion-dog thing, or the kecak mass trance chanting ritual-- another dimension. I wish I'd had more time to hang out in Bali. "Were [sic] not your monkey and so what?"-á -The Sex Pistols (2006) |
