If stations were ever made destructible, they'd set it to some ridiculously high amount so that nobody would have a chance of destroying it before Concord arrived. Then Goons or some other faction would find a way to destroy it anyways and goodbye half the playerbase. |

For a while on SiSi, the test server, everything was destructible.
People first noticed with asteroids, but then they started destroying stargates, which got CCP's attention. |

Although outposts ("stations") in 0.0 are attackable but not destructible (unless it's changed in the year I've been gone - it was talk about it). They don't explode but rather, eventually, change owner to the the corp triggering the change after gazillions of hitpoints and ammo/missiles has been spent. |

CCP has confirmed in a dev post that they want to make them (player built outposts) destroyable with loot drops but there's been no information on a timeframe or anything like that. De'Veldrin's Corallary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null. |
