Will have the skills for HAC soon so Im a bit eager to get myself a ishtar and go mission in one. What fitting should I go for and what type of mission are we talking about here. I want a fast setup, one that you can impulse around and use drones. Don't like the domi's crapy agility.
Plz give fitting tips and lvl of missions they can be used for. Add skills needed aswell, if necessary.

And hopefully you have the T2 drone, armor, cap, electronics and gunnery skills to make the Ish work as well. If you've just rushed up the skill tree to HAC without branching out beyond the min-reqs, you're not going to be nearly as effective in it as you may think, compared to the Domi.

I did some level 4 missions in an ishtar, and had the following fitting: - 3*heavy electron t2, 2*E50 nos - afterburner t2, drone tracking, 3*cap recharger - med repper t2, 2*rat specific hardener, 2*cap power relay

I'm curious to know how many of these setups are Lvl 4 tested. I could be completely off based but i had some trouble doing the lvl 4s in my ishtar. I have really lame gunnery skills, but i excell in drones w/ roughly 4 mil.
My problem was the ishtar couldn't soak as much damage as some lvl4s put out. Here's my tank fitting
Mid - 1 lg peroxide battery, 4 eutectic rechargers Low - 2 MAR t2, 3 active hardners (rat specific)
Some missions were a cake walk. I had real trouble w/ the angel extravaganza.
I'm always open to suggestions, but i thought i'd give my experience (which is limited) w/ the mission running in the ishtar. My advice would be to use a domi. |

My lvl 4 setup:
highs: 3 med nos + 2 drone aug Mid: 10mn ab II + best named sensor booster + best named target painter + Cap Recharger IIx2 Low: COSMOS MAR + 3 actives (mine are dark blood depedning on mission) + energized adaptive
On missions that I can, I use warden sentries.
103km targeting + 99km max range on sentries. TP to light everything up including those inty's. Up close I use t2 drones and I have been able to easily tank anything.
Had 8 angel bs's + some cruisers in unauthorized presence mission last night with no probs at all. Been using this for about a month or so now.

Hmm, that's quite interesting - I've been doing a few Level 3s with Ishtar and was wondering how feasible level 4s are (but with T2 gear rather than faction). I have approaching 7.5m SP in drones with level 5 in all supporting cap/armor skills and heavy assault 5 though my gunnery skills are average at best. I take it Ishtar would be a better proposition than a Domi then? (I also have Gallente BS 5).

This is just an opinion, but an Ishtar is an expensive ship and really needs some expensive modules to make her really shine.
For a low slot setup try: - 1600 RT plate - Faction medium repper (repair more damage than a standard tech II) - 2 true Sansha Energized Adaptive Nano Membranes (with comp skills at level 4 this gives 27% to all resist per module, not including stacking. - Rat specific Hardener (for Angels, just load the Explosive hardener) your EM will be somewhere around 78% because of the TS EANM's and that usually enough.
For Serps - just put on a pricey damage module in place of the explosive hardener and you can tank just about any Serp level 4.
Zazz is a pain in the arse..but with your 4-mil in drones, you should be able to kill Zor right away and then clean up the cruisers and BC's.
Guristas are an Ishtar pilot's wet dream...extremely tankable and the heavy kinetics eat right through them.
My kinetic resist with 2 TS EANM is 92%.
I haven't tried a dual repper setup yet, but I'm curious about how it would do in Angel Extrav, cause that is a nasty mission and I agree...the Domi is better suited for it.
