I have to say after 3 years of Game Play the battles on Eve TV seem so much fun without
ECM.
Personally I am a Falcon / Scorpion Pilot but after watching the battles the last few days
kinda made me wish we only had Interdictors and Warp Scrams.

Yeah lets do a mass collection and burn all the ECM :)
I agree ECM and WCS is slowly killing PvP but i think we have enough threads dealing with this issue hehe

Why will you **** kids dont understand that they will never EVER EVER remove ECM, they most prolly will CHANGE it though. So quit making these stupid threads and save the server power for something better, go and put ideas on how CCP can change ecm for the better instead in the ideas forum.

Many players enjoy crowd control abilities in these games. The players who think nobody should ever be able to stop them from doing what they want to do always cry about crowd control in every game. To date, no game has removed the crowd control.
You figure it out.
ECM might be overpowered at the moment, but its place in Eve is secure. I personally enjoy the extra tactics and unpredictability they bring to the game. If I wanted to just shoot and be shot at, I'd play space invaders. I wish the game had even more forms of ECM such as faking ship signatures, etc.

Don't know about that, those battles bored the hell out of me, what I took away from it was that PvP isn't all that unless you're there.

Usually betting a two digit percentage of your asset value on a tournament gets you more interested in watching the fights.

Yea, doing straight damage is soo much more satisfying than jamming/disrupting/dampening...it all fullfills the same purpose, killing. To say one is more desireable is silly. Taking it out of the game would further dumb down EVE, somethingt no one wants.
So stuff whatever hopes and dreams you ahve alt OP, ECM is here to stay, along with complexity of battle and variety.

Well, we can all do our part to make ECM less important. Like you, if you don't fly Falcons/Scorpions I'm sure for your future battles ECM will not be as important. Become part of the solution, not the problem
You have to remember though that the Tournament is just what it is, an ideal 5v5 situation with even numbers, even representation of ship types battling it out in a predefined setting, which just happens to include rules against ECM. Real EVE doesn't provide you with such fights, it can be anything from a 1vs1 to 250man blobs, coming in at long or short ranges, jumping in, warping in, getting logged ontop of, etc etc. In the real EVE ECM exists, and for a reason, since it allows you more depth of options in setting up the ship, creating counters, being on the safe side when it matters. And, well thats what EVE is about, choice. Obviously you don't have to use ECM in battles if you don't want to, afterall ECM doesn't do any damage and when it fails you'll be dead, guns and missiles don't tend to fail that much...
