Pretty Easy, 3 Cruise Missile Launcher
and if you can fit more stuff you can use all the med slots with Sensor Boosters to instalock your targets.
Nanofibers or WCS (unlikely that you can fit them) to align faster to warp, don't bother tanking this ship, it's not made for being shot at.

If you don't mind 2-3 jumps to get across a system (a cap battery really narrows your choices):
High: 3x Cruise Launcher Improved Cloaking Device II
Med: 2x Alumel-Wired I Sensor Augmentation (or whatever booster) 2x Kapteyn Sensor Array Inhibitor I (or whatever dampner)
Low: MAPC Ballistic Control II
Requires a bit of advanced weapon upgrade skills to fit.
This is for my preferred way of fighting with the manticore, get close, decloak+lock+fire+damp and cloak. The two damps mean a normal frig or cruiser sure as hell wont lock you back if you're around 30-40kms away unless it's running boosters of its own. Things can get a bit hairy if they are. :)

If you don't mind my asking why do you shoot from so close? I find my stealth bomber is like flying a paper airplane fited with 1/2 a bomb on it. I perfer to lob them from 60-70km... many frigs/inty/destroyers/cruisers cannot lock that far. Just curious if there is a benefit from locking that close (I'm an idiot so I need all the help I can get)

HEHEHE I forgot to even post my setup... I'm an idiot.. -3 launchers II's, cloak II -sensor booster, 2 dampeners, (what ever else you can fit I have major PG problems even with lvl 4 advanced weapon upgrades) -local hull injector, local hull nanofiber (I like to get away because this ship does not always pop people real quick and fights generally get a bit hair raising) Forum Fighter at work; player at night

Edited by: Dark Warrior on 17/07/2006 17:01:13 Please remember that by not fitting any "immobilizers" (especially warp disruptor or scrambler) you greatly limit the number of targets you can successfully kill.
One of my favorite setups consists of: - Sensor booster - Sensor dampener - Warp scrambler/disruptor - Webber As I use Tech 2 launchers, this pretty much prevents me from using the Tech 2 cloak and forces to stick with the "Prototype" version. Than again - stealth bombers are - IMHO - not built for breaking speed records. Also, the moment your prey even STARTS targeting you, you will NOT be able to cloak.
Three general comments: - Manticores can pack a lot of punch but at the same time are quite vulnerable. When operating in hostile territory fitting a small armor repper (for fixing the armor in between fights) may be quite helpful. - Even with very decent cap skills, Manticores are absolutely terible when it comes to getting through larger systems (gotta love Amarr stealth bombers...). Fitting a cap battery is an option but - without the ability to refit at the destination - significantly "gimps" the potential of this vessel. - Last but not least - sensor dampeners. Even with good missile skills, you won't be able to even scratch a decent Crow pilot orbiting beyond your webber range and at speeds of +4km/s. This is when those modules come in place. Allign to your safe spot, make sure you're at max speed, fire up the dampener and enjoy cursing in local :)
Remember to choose your targets wisely and look into recon cruisers. If you're into soloing, you may want to consider the Amarr Pilgrim or - as it seems that you're specializing in Caldari - Rook (Falcon is a great recon but overall, not this good solo).

I'd like to thank this ISSN pilot for valuable and constructive input into the discussion.
Saying that alsmost any type of vessel sucks can be compared to stating that e.g. "minivans suck". I wouldn't necessarily drive one (yet) but there are hundreds of thousands of people successfully using them every day.
Manticores are by no means powerful vessels and I personally don't fly them too often any more BUT if you like the idea of being invisible in enemy territory and able to destroy SOME more vulnerable targets that come along (tech 1 haulers, frigates, interceptors if not this fast enough or on approach, assault frigates - depending on circumstances and some cruisers) - stealth bombers can definitely be fun.

Thank you...Why do people throw out worthless ideas (not even an idea just being dumb) Stealth Bombers are fun...expensive fun but fun none the less. I personally cannot wait until ccp elevates themselves again and makes the SB able to warp cloaked. (cmon CCP I know you want to ) But yeah SB's have their place and the entire idea that they are faster cloaked vs not cloaked is a riot in my opinion makes them so much more fun. No one get a SB thinking that they are gonna go own everyone in the game with it...they are just toys like any ship...each with its own unique problems (just a few more than some other ships)

Just need clarification here;
so stealth bombers currently have to uncloak before they can warp? I thought they could enter warp while cloaked.

its lame yes and no....would like to see it but rather not have it happen, that's the covert ops's role, plus if u could, it'll drive the covert ops cloak prices up more, and everyone knows its high enough as it is already...

Dude bombers are covert ops...and when reverse engineering (with kali) comes out I hope to see a good drop in price...

It just gives me a buzz. :)
From that range it (is/was?) possible to recloak immediately after firing and still do damage with the first volley. I tend not to do this when solo as there's always a chance that you get it wrong and look like an idiot.. and 9 times out of 10 your target would survive one volley anyway. :D
I've not actually taken on an inty in a SB yet though... I'm guessing it might pop if it wasn't moving.
