I've started a corp and just looking for people willing to be bugged for advise. Admittedly I'm trying to run with quite an ambitious idea, however It would be great to bounce ideas off people who have a "successful" Corp.

successful is relative.
My corps never been big, but typically i either train newbies or people stick with me, which is odd. its better to just as your question and post ideas, be warned if they are to crazy might get shot down. In a room full of dumb blondes, EvE is the smart red head on the other side of the room.-á Lots of men like dumb blondes, and not everyone will like the smart red head, but she doesn;t need to change to be a dumb blonde.-á She is perfect how she is.-á Thats EvE vs other mmo's.-á You either like the red head, or you don't. |

I had posted my ideas before and did get them shot down. But it's usualy because they didnt understand what I was saying or trolling. |

just be careful not to fall into the trap that because your idea get shot down that people don;t understand them. they could really suck too ;)
but anyway, some things are rather basic, recruit, train, offer crap to keep players. I hate to say this because it doesn't sound very helpful, but running a corp is like flying a carrier in exactly one way: if you need come here on the forums to ask how to do it, you shouldn't be doing it.
I'm not exactly sure how all the people who currently do either actually learned how to do those things well, but it wasn't by asking here. Because no one will tell you here.
And I don't know either. If I knew, I would tell you. Turrents |

Look at the title of the thread sir. Advise is not the same as advice.

Communication. Never stop communicating. Make it clear and easy for your corp members to know what's going on and what's been happening. Kitchen sink? Seriousy, get your ship together - -áFleet-Up.com |

Unless you are making a corp of you yourself and your alts . . . yeah, get some miles under you in someone elses corp to learn some of the ropes.
The links above are a good start.
My fav rule is Only give director rights to someone you can physically find and punch in the nose.
Read up on awoxing, safaris, and corps scams BEFORE you start rather than after they happen

I saved this from a thread about starting a successful industry corp. Don't remember who posted it but all credit goes to them.
GÇó Incentives are better than punishment: encourage people to participate, but don't penalize apathy.
GÇó Unless you're really lucky, you'll end up doing 80% of the work yourself. Accept this now or risk anger/burn out later.
GÇó Background checks. Hulk/freighter kills are juicy.
GÇó Rigs/ammo are good starting places for corp production: offer to buy salvage/minerals from corp members. Make it simple and profitable, otherwise they'll gravitate to market orders.
GÇó Offer free services like haulling, refining, other stuff to attract members.
GÇó Once you grow, offer positions like "hauler" and "builder", where members are paid for their time. Make it clear what's expected from them, and what their incentives are.
GÇó A POS is a good goal, but problematic to put up once you have other members with standings. Either make an alt research corp, or get people to drop and comeback after it's up. Make sure it's worthwhile before persuing.
GÇó Be active. Plan ops, get people chatting/mining/missioning together. Yes, missioners are good even in indy corps, as they help fill the corp wallet. Incursion runners are even better.
GÇó As much as possible, make corp assets available for members' proffit. Lock BPOs and open access to them, let people borrow mining barges when theirs gets blown up, etc. This gains you good will, which becomes loyalty.
GÇó Listen to suggestions. Even the bad ones, of which there will be some. Do experiments. No one minds a failed experiment if you were upfront at the begining of it.
GÇó Have a couple directors, but keep a majority of your shares. Log on every day to make sure they don't pull any funny votes.
GÇó Give members opportunites to invest in the corp, with a repayment.
Not today spaghetti. |

My advice would be to stay low on forums/ingame, lest your corp be dect continuously. To bad it is too late for that, oh well. |
