Space Invaders ur tactic is way too burdensome here's an easier way.
I tested this last night so I know it works. For it to work you need two blackbirds in addition to whatever gate-camping squadron you intend to deploy.
Equip both blackbirds in the same fashion. mid slots: 1 ion field projector, 1 spatial destabilizer, 1 white noise emitter, 1 phase inverter, 1 extra of any of these systems, and 1 sensor booster. low slots: two cap relays.
Now, position the blackbirds behind the stargate (opposite side from where people will be warping in at) at maximum targeting range with your sensor booster activated. Each blackbird targets a sentry gun, and activates its jamming modules.
Result: blackbirds are out of targeting range for any incoming ships (and thus no danger of the lock being disrupted), and the sentry guns are jammed and nullified. You are free to camp the gate and destroy any and all incoming ships so long as the two blackbirds remain alive.
Enjoy!

Ya can't jam a sentry though ;)
Kudos for trying, tho.

a few patches ago the patch notes said sentry guns are now unjamable, unfortunetly this has been removed in the last patch....
it's a bug and should be repaired, as they are exploiting the game mechanics for their own fun and profit...

Like, in one of those huge threads about SI someone guessed how we camped in 0.4 space. Its not an exploit, its teamwork. Now I understand it can be painful to realise this, but just try to face reality.
This is not a hijack

haha...
Wots that? They are now able to camp in 0.4 again, and they are using teamwork to do this, but at the cost of two BB's?!??! Oh no! this must be an exploit. Petition filed, forum post complete.
Wake up and smell the rainbow.
Peace and love x

Of course it's an exploit! EVERYTHING that the stupid carebears can't counter because of their poor organization / teamwork is an EXPLOIT! NERF!

There is only one thing that bothers me immensly about this....
How on earth do u catch anyone incoming from warp who has half a brain? All that one has to do is warp to some other location immediately upon seeing 5 Space Invaders sitting at the gate before the warp immunity expires and before they can target. What do these ppl do while travelling in 0.0-0.4?! Sleep at the controls?

You would not believe how many we catch AFK. Sometimes we hold them in stasis and scrambled for few minutes just to see if they come back to check their ship.

Blah, blah, blah, blah.... whinging whining Carebear ****...
Whether I agree with the specific tactic or not my heartfelt respect goes out to all those pirate or otherwise who manage a high degree of teamwork.
In many online games when the in game content stops inspiring you it's the player driven content (which sometimes surprises the devs) that really brings the game alive.
Have fun in space!

From what I understood, SI uses the Tanking Method to negate the guns. Jamming the guns is not supposed to work as per 1165. That would be taking advantage of a bug in the game.
The Tanking Method that SI uses (from what I have read) is just brilliant teamwork.

Yes, certainly the tanking method is fantastic teamwork.
Aparently the sentry guns being jammable, has now been fixed, as they were not indended to be jammable, best get back to teamwork Cao Cao, or maybe start another thread about how u think the superhighway is the worst thing ever.
