back in the day most missles did AoE damage, i think torps had a 5km radius, everything else was less....we also had deployable mines that did AoE, Self Destruct also did AoE - 5km, damage based on ship size iirc

im all for bringing back AoE damage, but its going to be a bad idea for larger radius blasts. SD should definatly do AoE damage, radius and amount based on ship size, should be able to take out comparable ships at about the midpoint of expected ranges....so ~10km for frigates 50km for BSs

Does not compute. If you "prefer to be left alone" there are plenty of single player games you might want to look into.

As for being given tools to fend against your enemies - are we playing the same game here? Last I checked, the market is full of many tools that seem like they were created to do just this.

I'd recommend you drop the "leave me alone" mindset and make some friends and ask some questions.
