Edited by: Jabel on 18/07/2006 23:08:44 I almost have 1 mil sp on my char, but i have noticed that i like the idea of pvp, so here's the problem: did i cripple my char by have 18 Int, 12 Mem and only 7 per and 6 will.
I am very interested in pvp, but i don't mind having a support role in combat, or being a tackler. Nor do i really mind doing research. I just don't want my char to be holed into one thing.
So what do you think?

train yout learning skills to boost those low attributes and you should be fine, the attributes as far as i am aware only govern training times, so it takes a day longer to train a skill relevant to those attributes, it dont really matter tbh, however get those learning skills both basic and advanced for those attributes and you should be fine. 1mill sp is sufficient for pvp provided it is in combat related fields :) ----------------------------------------------- winmau industries now recruiting ,looking for combat pilots/miners, convo me or evemail me ingame for details |

Actually many of them are combat skills, i've been thinking of flying intercepters someday and so i've beening training my skills towards that goal, although i have been training up my learning skills.

You could invest heavily in ECM skills (which I believe are mem/int) and be a popular addition to any gang.

k then you should be fine for pvp, depends on how you wanna pvp, i.e. join a big alliance and watch one blob attack another bob or become a pirate and do it thataway. if you are unsure look in the eve videos for some fleet battles, and look in the videos forum for some other battles - my favourite is the thorax of doom video http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=361106 theres the link for the thread its mentioned in if yer interested.

that does raise the question solo pvp or gang pvp which is another factor on how to train and setup ----------------------------------------------- winmau industries now recruiting ,looking for combat pilots/miners, convo me or evemail me ingame for details |

lol that's a funny way to put it. I'm not sure mostly likely join an alliance. But is alliance combat generally like that?

from what ive read in the forums it can be like that and if you view some of the videos from this link
http://myeve.eve-online.com/download/videos/?type=5
that is certainly how it appears, alliance combat to my knowledge is mainly large conflicts of resources, strategic locations etc, basically command and conquer. so a large fleet is always the norm , however piracy can be done soloed or in a small gang of 3-4 people so you can have a lot of fun, there is also antipiracy or small scale pvp corps that like to control small territories. ----------------------------------------------- winmau industries now recruiting ,looking for combat pilots/miners, convo me or evemail me ingame for details |

With relatively low starting Perception and Willpower you may find it takes you a little longer to train for new ships and bigger/better guns & missiles

basilce get your learnign skill for perceptiona and willpower up (your high imtell makes that faster btw) and slap in +1 implants for per and will, and you will be fine.
remember that to keep ships alive you will need the skills that are governed by intel. so you will train those up faster
No character is cripples for pvp or anything else becasue of their base stats. They take slightly longer to train, thats all.
and for the record, my per and will were my lowest stats too. Looking back and knowing whaty I do now, I'd probably have set it up the same way anyway. You can buy +3 implants if you want to train up that month long level 5 skill and shave days off of it, so its not a big deal
Oh and remember if you are podded and lose your implants, your present training skill keeps training at the same rate till it completes. so if you are heading into a war, its a good time to start that long skill going.

i started with 3 in perception \0/ so i know the pain of training gunnery + ship skills. but in the long run i turned out ok and i am pretty happy with my char.
