My name is Legedric Striker (well at least in EVE that is) and I always wondered why noone built a web based Skillplanner for EVE Online yet. As we at Virtual Playgrounds are much better at building web applications than flying space ships we just started to develop EVE-Skillplan.net as a new project from scratch on our own. Of course some of you may want to say: "But why? There is EVEMon!" and that's correct, EVEMon is a great software which we are still using, too. But there are places where you cannot install or use EVEMon at all and most of the mobile apps out there lack at least some sort of features in general and there is just no solution to be used on any device, no matter where you are. We wanted to built a tool that's completely platform independent. No matter if you want to plan your skill training on an Apple device, Unix machine or any other device being capable of displaying this website: You can do it! In addition, you can switch back and forth between your devices and you will always have your personal skill plans at hand, no matter where you are. No need to backup or import/export your stuff for every switch you want to make from your PC to your tablet or smartphone. And you may still use other tools if you want to! There is even an import and export functionality for example for EVEMon built into EVE-Skillplan.net - feel free to use it anytime. All you've got to do is simply create a new account for free and start adding API keys to the platform and go from there! Special thanks goes to Dragonaire for the amazing Yapeal PHP API library. A few suggestions though to make this my daily driver: Let us select which characters we want to import from each API Key. I'm lazy and got all alts included on each key, however I don't want to see them all in the character screen. Please give us more columns in the skill planner, SP/h as well as primary/secondary attribute each skill is using and the total SP at the end of the skill (same feature as in EVEMon really) It is hard to use attribute remaps when you have no idea what speed each skill is trained at. In the ship progression page, I would love to see masteries added there isncluding the little golden icons once the ships are at mastery 5. Oh and a little bug, you can't move the skill currently training up or down in the skill plan, you can move the ones above to end up below it but you can't move the skill itself. I had some trouble using it as a skill planner, though. I imported a skill plan and wanted to move a group of skills, but could only shift one at a time--that would take quite a while. I just deployed an update to the site including the following updates: Option to hide characters from the overview list (Character->Settings) Reworked the whole skill plan area to get more space in terms of width for the actual skill plan Added icons for primary and secondary attribute of each skill to the skill plan list Added Total SP to the list of skills Added a warning sign to display insufficient clone sizes within the skill plan Some remarks on your feedback: - I am not quite sure about adding SP/hour to the list as from my experience it's not something many people care about to waste "space" on - Sorting multiple items at once is somewhat difficult using web scripts as the system already has to check many things as soon as you "drop" a skill somewhere like if all prerequisites are met until then etc. So it already is on the ToDo list but no ETA - Sorting by attribute will be looked into but same as above: No ETA Thanks again for your feedback, it is much appreciated! However would it be possible to let us pick and chose the columns we want to see in the planner view (like EVEMon)? I'm probably getting old and blind but int/mem/per/will/cha is a lot easier to see than the small icons while not taking up much more space. Also any comment on possibility of adding Masteries to the ISIS view? Another feature I would like to see is to add something like google circles where you can share your skillplan with friends/corp mates as well as skill templates to quickly see who has the pre-req skills for a specific ship/fit. In fact that's a features which is on my list from the very beginning of this project so I am already working on it. But as you can imagine, there are tons of things to take care of for implementing this into the ISIS system of EVE-Skillplan.net - I am hoping to have a first draft at hand until the end of this month. Sharing complete plans like for other games like "Hey can you send me a plan for a basic Nyx sitter?" is also a feauture I am already working on but no ETA on when this will be available for the public. I was thinking more that you could share your characters within EVE-Skillplan.net in a similar way as google circles works, not part of google circles. That way all the people in a corp can share their characters/plans to the leadership and they can then have say a "capital plan" that they can filter all the characters against to quickly see who will qualify for free ship replacement for example. Is it possible to create "on mouseover" things for the skills in the main skill overview of a character? Since that list gives a good overview of what your character knows already and at what level that skill is. But for some skills I simple cannot remember what they do in game and why I skilled it so high or low. So, just an idea :)

I like Evemon, its a very useful and robust tool, however the one thing that drives me completely crazy about it is when i hop back and forth between my laptop and computer. i usually export my skill plans to a network hard drive, then i have to remember to import the changes next time i get on the other computer... its a pain in the rear, typically resulting in lost changes that i forgot to export/import. i tried using the battleclinic uploader feature, however your skill plans are not automatically sync'd via this method, which was my only reason for trying the battleclinic uploader. after much wishing for a better alternative, i came across eve-skillplan.net, and there was much rejoicing as trumpets sounded and angels descended from heaven at this time i have completely transitioned my data over to eve-skillplan.net and fully endorse their project. the website is great in both appearance and handling. importing my evemon skill plans was simple, as was setting up my api keys. i am very satisfied with my choice, and i eagerly await to see how they grow and mature!

What browser are you using while you are encountering the drag and dropproblems? What exactly do you mean by "seems a bit bland" regarding the level progress? Where? Thanks again! ;) I'm using Opera 26 (uses Webkit, the same rendering engine as chrome) however I've just tried it again and it worked fine. I was talking about the Level 1 - 5 graphics on the existing skills page... not really a bit deal though. One thing that seems to be missing is tooltips within 'Skill Queue' section which explains what the skill does.

I can see that EVE-Skillplan.net reads the API Key Info from the EVE API (you can see that in your API logs in API key management, just look for their IP address), but no more character or skill related stuff. Thus the skills for my added character do not update and the characters of the new API keys do not show up.

It shows an amount that was there days ago, current balance is higher than that. To test the issue with new characters not added I just created a brand new key and added it to my account. We'll see if it updates correctly. The old key (for the same account) that was stored in my account did not fetch the character, so I removed it and created the new one. I will report back when I got home, the key will be in the system over an hour by then and should be updated (if possible). Stay tuned for edits on this post (or new replies, but I don't like double posting). Feature : a search field while adding skills in skillplan (in the popin list) to find the skill that you don't know the location. I don't know the tree organisation of some skills, and sometimes I had to open several categories to find the one I wanted to add, or worse, open another eve tool to find where this skill is hidden. Well I didn't use yet your type of accordion so maybe it's more complicated that I thought, but still, I think that would not be a lot of trouble. This way characters should show up on the platform immediately after you add a new API key. Added a mechanism to deactivate expired and deleted EVE API keys automatically Fixed an issue that prevented some users from adding API keys (ladda is undefined error) If anyone still encounters any problems adding API keys or having their characters not showing up, please post here or send me an EVE mail so I get investigate the issue. With this update I managed to shrink the API fetching by a large chunk again. In fact, the API is being checkec every minute and on average it takes just 1 minute and some seconds (<10) to finish the fetching for about 2,600 active API keys right now. Another feature that I think the site could benefit from greatly. Not a unique idea. Another feature of Evemon that I miss. 3) An optimal remap option would be nice as well. I really didn't want this to be a "just copy Evemon's features" post but I guess it kind of turned into that huh? lmao. If I had to prioritize the suggestions I listed above I'd say it would go as 1, 3, 2. All in all I really enjoy the website. I really like the design. It's nice, very easy to find most options and what not. If I wasn't such a poorboi in game right now I'd totally be throwing you some iskies. Thanks for the site! I will look into how to ompimize this for users with a large amount of skill plans but I cannot give any ETAs at the moment as I am pretty much involved in RL work right now. Indeed I can do that, thank you - but only right after a page reload. If I add/remove skills or press any other buttons, dragging stops working until the next reload. As in I can still drag items, but I don't get the indicator that it will accept dropping anywhere. Browser is Safari Version 10.0.2 (11602.3.12.0.1).

EDIT: It seems that my other chars are not updating aswell. One of my other chars wallet shows out of date amount of isk. I'm also having these issues on both my characters. A shame since I like EVE-Skillplan and since EveMon now seems to be going down the drain with constant crashes.

EDIT: It seems that my other chars are not updating aswell. One of my other chars wallet shows out of date amount of isk. I'm also having these issues on both my characters. A shame since I like EVE-Skillplan and since EveMon now seems to be going down the drain with constant crashes. Sounds like you both have browser issues. Try updating your browser or use Firefox. On Linux I had an issue with chrome, but Firefox worked like a charm.

Tried on Microsoft Edge (Windows 10) and Firefox with same result so I doubt it's browser related. I have always been using Chrome and never had any issues in the past.

Characters not updating again. Info is few days old on both of my chars that are on different accounts. Doesn't matter which browser I use - Safari or Chrome. Sounds more like a CCP's problem tho.

Does that only work if they have an active subscription? Hi Erutor, I already moved this project over to ESI as far as possible in terms of the technical part. BUT it is not activated on the "live" site so far as ESI is missing major parts like for example: Current active implants and attributes of your active clone/character. As long as there is no way to get the current implants and attributes it doesn't makle sense for my project to move from legacy XML API to ESI.
