Probaly brought up many times.. however i think i have a possible new suggestion
Don't add items via ships -> or whatever
I know you can "view market details" already BUT..!
What if faction items were searchable via search bar? Im sure it wouldn't be that hard..

I'm pretty sure the current situation is "per design". --- The Advanced Drone Control Panel. |

If you mean the search tab in the Market interface, I think that you can already. Faction items just don't end up on the market that often.

All items should be searchable on the market. I don't care as much if they show up in the item browser.
The current state of things couldn't be by design. If it is, that design is fundamentally broken.
The view market details means that you need to own the really expensive faction item to be able to buy one. Normally you only need one, so you'd be buying it only if you didn't have one. If you don't have one, you'll never get one.
So how about we all trade everything on escrow? That's absurd. The escrow system has no search. It can take 5 minutes to determine whether the item you want is even available on escrow (chances are, it's not and you just wasted all that time). If it is available, you have no way of knowing whether it's a good price. Escrow transactions don't have a history like market transactions do. Even if you watch the escrow like a hawk, there's no way to know whether certain items are actually closing transactions, or whether the seller is re-buying his goods to cancel the escrow. There is no number of jumps on the escrow. You have to coordinate a possible buy with the map system.
The escrow system is a hack. It wasn't even designed as a market place. Read the first paragraph of The CCP escrow guide. If the escrow wasn't designed for trading, How are we supposed to trade things that don't show up on the market?
The only thing escrow has going for it is that it is cheap. It completely skips sales tax and broker fees.
I don't think adding items to the market search would be hard at all. It would help everyone. It would make the escrow system much less crowded.
I would go so far as to say that not just faction, but all items should be available on the market via search. This includes things like mission objectives and deadspace keys. There is an objective to get 5 encoded lai dai reports. You can't buy your way out of it at first. You pickup one report, and suddenly you can buy the other 4 (they do cost like 4 million, though). That makes no sense at all. Another case of "you need to own it to buy it, and once you have it, chances are you don't need any more of them". I know some would object to this selling mission objectives on the market, and I understand that. We can differ on this point, but really, where is the faction gear?
The escrow can remain for absurdly expensive items and blueprints (eventually blueprints should be sellable on the market, but right now the escrow BP interface is decent), and for selling groups of items as a "package deal".

I agree that everything should be on the market. Just last week i found a "Zor's Hyper-link" implant, and put it for sale on the market. After a few days i was wondering why no one was buying it, then i searched and realized you cant find it on the market unless you already have one. This item only goes for 18-20mil on escrow, so i dont see what the problem is. 250mil isk ships are on market but not 20mil isk implants...

Oh, and one more thing about the escrow. The escrow is heavily limited in the number of slots that it can show. It seems to favor newly added items. If you add an item to the escrow, someone had better buy it in the first couple of hours, otherwise it will never sell.
