How much would Eve change if it cost X isk per Y volume of your ship every time you docked at a station?
I only ask this after looking at the dbo.staStations database that was realeased with the data dump. -=Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds=- |

More shuttles, less activity otherwise, and certainly more smaller ships in general to do business. The cost of everything would also rise. ___________________________ |

Doesn't the ISS charge people for docking at their stations right now?
Seems more like a player thing than something that is going to get injected into all of the stations. ___________________

I can see it now... you just spent all your money on ship upgrades/insurance and left the station to do a mission. On your return, you don't have enough money to get back in to get credit for finishing the mission.

Do you need to be docked to finish a mission? I know you don't have to be at the same station as the agent to finish.

I'm not sure... I just know that when I try to talk to an agent he tells me to go to his station.

Probably not too much. If they made it fair for new players, then anyone who had played for a few months probably wouldn't even notice it.
If they made it noticeable, then it would make too many people bankrupt.

Well it might help keeping inflation in check, but money going to the coffers of the NPCs doesn't get back to players quite as easily as it might for PCs - its not as if they hand out tea and sandwiches every time you dock.
Maybe a better idea would be to have filling stations. Its always bothered me that Eve ships never need fuel - oh I realise that futuristic fuels might be so efficient that a few grams of it might last for a long time - but having filling stations all over the universe would open up a whole world of business: Franchises & trade, rackets & scams, price wars, extortion and that everlasting criminal activity of 'protection'. What fun! And lots of new business skills, building, tanker ships etc etc. In fact a whole new game!

yes. Even if you leave the communication window open, the agent will complain about noise on the line or something and ask you to dock at a station so you can get a good line.

If the agents required you to get stuff, like drugs, prisoners, special deliveries, then... tadaa yes :)
If you just had to wipe out stuff, then... nope! :P This may not be work safe -Capsicum |
