If I use a webifier to slow down a target, shouldn't that help my missiles do more damage to it?
Also, shouldn't webifiers make turrets more accurate at closer range because of the tracking speed/target speed ratio?
The reason I ask is because my webifier doesn't seem to do either of these. Or maybe I just don't understand how this stuff works.

The webber will only make your missiles do more damage if the target is at excessively high velocity (they need to be going over the missiles explosion velocity to have any damage reduction, and they need to be going a few hundred meters per second over the explosion velocity to have any real damage reduction).
They DO make turrets more accurate, in that it's easier for you to maintain a lower transversal velocity. If you're orbiting them, you're increasing the transversal and making it harder for your turrets to hit, even if the target is webbed.

That's what I wasn't sure about. I thought just slowing down a ship would have a missile do more damage.
I guess my turret just has a really crappy tracking speed. I'll have to check into that.

How can you check your transversal velocity, and if you want better tracking get a target painter or get 125mm guns.(P.S. How the hell do you quote stuff?)

Instead of clicking reply, click quote in the post that you wish to quote.
As for the transversal velocity, go to overview settings (click the triangle close to the top on your overview) and there you can chose to view transversal velocity, I think its under "columns" tab.

Probably what happens is that you are using a big weapon on a small target. Try checking the EVE Tracking Guide, and the new Missile Guide that I have just seen. You can also enter the ships' and weapons' data and look at what damage to expect.
Have fun.
