As of this post I am about to play Planet Side 2 to sate my FPS urge. I would be playing DUST but no PC version. The main reason I'm about to start playing Planet Side 2 is because the graphics and gameplay from various pictures and videos, it looks like DUST. I've heard the lag and awkward controls and aiming of DUST, but those flaws aside, anyone that has played both think this so?
Besides MMO I like FPS and DfS (Dogfighting Shooter). And to be able to play all three in one cohesive integrated universe would be more than AWESOME.
EVE Online, DUST: Legion (should just be called EVE Legion  ), and EVE Valkyrie.

DUST is bad because CCP Shanghai is bad... I've been playing it for months,

Well, I hope that Legion fixes the lag in aiming as a lot of reviews state. The awkward controls will be remedied with keyboard and mouse. In addition I hope they extend Legion to non-FW areas so wardecorps can hire "mercs" to takeover/protect their investments. To give Legion more scope than just a niche spot in FW.

1. DUST supports keyboard and mouse right now. I've been playing it that way since closed beta.
2. DUST has territory in non-FW areas. Currently, Molden Heath.

Now there are many DUST players who started playing after the Legion announcement. All they have ever known is a CCP that responds to their concerns and consults the community on balancing issues.

It's too bad Dust isn't a PC game as I'm looking for one right now.
PS2 is a good game - they just pissed me off. They implemented continent locking - and while I don't have a problem with the concept - I did not like the way they implemented it. You're going along, fighting a battle, your side may even be winning where you are at - when all of a sudden you get this notice in the middle of your screen (which will not go away) that one of the other empires has won the continent and you are booted. To my mind - they were simply to eager to lock continents and so they made it to easy.
As to lag - PS 2 has a number of different servers so you can try and pick one close to you. The other factor there is your graphics settings. Put things on the highest settings and it may lag for your system. (Obviously those are different forms of lag).
You can play PS2 for free though. No time limit. No level restrictions. You just won't get stuff as fast - but then - that doesn't really matter. The game is all about running around shooting each other - and you can do that from day one. The starter weapons are all deadly - and the newest nube can kill the leader of the score board any day of the week. Just come up behind him and empty your weapon into his head (yes - head shots).
As to why I was playing PS2 instead of EVE? In EVE there is real loss. I played for 5 years and had multiple accounts with multiple characters and corporations but - RL got to where I was constantly interrupted. Having to just jump up and leave your ship you put all those hours into acquiring to it's fate ... not a good thing. I still mess around here a little but have to restrict myself to things where I am less likely to lose my ship (repeatedly) if I have to jump up and go AFK. In games like WoW, PS2 and WoT - it doesn't really matter that much if you get killed. You just respawn.
World of Tanks pissed me off too ... they penalize you now for sitting in ambush ... so good bye to them ...

Id play DUST in a heartbeat, even with inferior combat (if that's true) vs PL2
Put Dust on PC already, lots of people would kill for a PL2 type game with some depth and more to it than just taking and retaking the same places for little reason.
Console gamers just want the highest quality of action gaming, PC gamers will sacrifice quality for depth.
Not tapping into CCP's built in PC audience was the dumbest thing ive seen. |

I'd play Dust for some Weeks, but my main Problem is, i cant use my Headset from the PC.
Well i played with Mouse and Keyboard and it worked well.
But the Sound System of the PS3 is garbage and I am note willing to buy a different hardware only to play DUST514.
I already bought a used PS3 to play DUST 514.... but without TS3 and a Usefully Headset support its dead for me....
