Since the general consesus, even on EveTv, seems to be that Defenders, well, suck more than a black hole.. are they ever going to get looked at/boosted?
You know, little things like:
Killing torps with 1 shoot at level 5 skill
Going for a RANDOM missile directed at your GANG
Just wondering..

Random missile thing is never going to happen as you would all of a sudden have caracals with 5 rocket launchers 2 spamming defenders.

The most important feature would be to make them automatic instead of semi-automatic like they are now.
You fire them once, and they are on autorepeat, and launch whenever a missile is shot at you, instead of having to time their launch, like it is now.
That would enable them to be effective at ranges under 100km, and would solve pretty much al other siisues, even that it takes more than 1 to kill most missiles.
Additionall,y the one missile launcher on amarrian ships would become REALLY useful.
Oh yeah, and then they need to add a tier2 destroyer with the role of "Fleet defender" that would have 8 missile launchers, a 50% range and refire bonus for defenders and be the only ship that targets its defenders at all missiles in its range that dont belong to your alliance. But thats just a weird thought.

Personally I would welcome the above changes, if they give Defenders their specialised launcher. If you're going for missile defense you should commit to it.
But then again I wouldn't mind seeing flak guns of all sizes either.
