hey
first sorry for the spelling, my english sucks
i'm a mission runner, having fun in them
i am doing lvl4's for a two months or so, me and my alt who flies a raven
i'm flying a tempest. yay. well not really for missions
first, raven is a mission BEAST. i'm mostly using the tempest to tank stuff while the raven kills
second, i really find those missions unbalanced. i can do most of them without too much trouble, some of them really easily
then you get angel extravaganza. several stages of mission, for a reward that is what? twice the usual one? (2M isk or so)
this mission is freaking hard
so my question to ccp is : were missions like angel extravaganza designed to be the standard lvl 4(requires organization, a group, etc), or is it really a specific super hard mission in the middle of a lot of easy ones?
and in that last case, give it a 30M reward please :p

All the levels have this "feature". In level 1, it's the Worlds Collide mission. Level 2, its Human Cattle. You might not have noticed, as missions are random, and you might not have been at that level long enough. I had nearly 5000 LP with my lvl 1 agent, before I got a worlds collide mission. After going to lvl 2, I got human cattle several times, nearly back to back. Now I'm doing level 3's on my alt, and it seems half are hard, and half a cakewalk. I get the same 4 missions over and over, extravenganza is one ( the lvl 3 bad boy).

You are a NOOB When doing things on your own it usually means ON YOUR OWN not you in your tempest with a raven alt

So you're complaining because there is mission variety?
I dont know if you noticed, but you get a lot more from bounties in angel extrvaganza than the 'easy' missions.

Yeah I think the total bounties in angel extraveganza come out to about 30 mill, plus any mods you might pick up from the mission, also that's not including the locked final gate.

The fact that you can make 30m in highsec running a single mission is very unbalanced in my opinion.
That being said, they are really meant to be done in groups, but apparently faction mods ftw  .

my lowsec agent gives out about 20mil including the bonus for the extravaganazas
and i believe AE gives about 10mil in bounties(me and 2 corpmates did it and got about 3mil a pop)

The mission is more difficult than most L4s but not that bad. If you can't do it with two BS, you're doing something wrong. Check your setup/tactics. It's very much soloable with one BS.
You want a 30M reward? Kill all the rats, pickup all the loot and do the bonus stage. Bounties alone are >10M, plus the
reward, bonus, loot and possibly a nice implant on the bonus stage.

You dont make 30 million from the Extravaganza missions. They take about 2 hours to complete and they contain about 100 frigs and cruisers and a couple of crap BS that are boringly boring to kill. Which is why I always refuse this mission.
Now if it was so good, I wouldnt refuse it. I never refuse worlds collide.

i completely agree i am a newbie, if that can relax you on this point :p
about worlds collide, there is a real "trick" to do it easily
however there, with extravaganza, you kinda need some help
also i'm not complaining, i just find strange that two or three missions are levels of difficulty above the rest, but dont have the reward associated with it =)

It could be worse. You could be an empire miner. They do the same thing in empire that 0.0 miner guys do in 0.0 but get far far less as a reward.

30mill in a mission just doesn't happen. 10mill is usually the cap and it usually takes hours to complete. The BS's go for between 350k-500k. If you're really lucky you might get a single 1.5mill BS at the very end of an extraveganza mission but no other mission.
0.0 space ratting can make that kind of cash faster and easier than any level 4 mission. To top it off the loot from 0.0 is much better than the tech 1 loot from level 4's.
Additionally, alot of level 4's DO require groups otherwise you have to do alot of jump in and kill a few before jumping out tactics. Most of the bigger missions take longer than the bonus time as well and thats being aggressive. How long does it take to make 30mill in 0.0 space? Yeah, alot less.
Been doing level 4's for a month now. After refits, and replacing ships from mistakes I've just recently broken the 100mill mark. A 30mill insurance premium is still a big dent in my pocket from a lost ship (faction mods? what faction mods). And losing a ship is very possible if you're not paying attention. Level 4's are still plenty deadly if you dont know what you're doing or you drop your guard.

Why is that unbalanced? I can make 30m in an hour of low-sec ratting.
