This is ok isn't it? I have noticed an increasing number of people willing to risk the wrath of my Merlin by nicking my cans so I started laying them in belts and attacking whoever takes them. I attack pretty much anyone who trys it, be it noob or a more elder player.
My question is this ok to do or is it frowned upon? I see it as its the persons own fault if they do nick a can so I am well within my rights to deal them some Thorn rocket goodness.
Cheers,
Boyo

Ofcourse its okay.. People chooser to steal from you themselves.. noone forces them, so it is their own problem.. They even get a warning message telling that you and your corp will have permission to kill the person after. They can even chek for you in local chat.
Maybe they just want some PvP?

Just go to low-sec and do it properly dudes, a lot less messing around imo.

going to low-sec to do it proper? naw, it's much more enjoyable to pvp in high sec and with luck, pop carebears. personally, i steal cans as often as i can, hoping to get an engagement...and hopefully i can run into a baiting merlin one of these days :)
i hadn't considered that dropping my own cans might lead to more combat...
question, how far away from the can can you be and still get kill rights?

Yea can flaging can be fun. When i do it i normaly have a bs docked just incase bite off more than i can chew in a frig or cruiser.
Dont know if u will get much luck like this but how about a can with a juicey item, but not to much in a can outside jita 4, say a shield booster II or somthing in it.. somone is bound to get greedy and take the bait.

I think you can get in trouble if you use this tactic at a station. I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble doing it else where. Just don't go noob baiting and I think you will be ok. (i.e. don't do it in kisigo or duripant )

why would u get in trouble for this ? its not an exploit or anything. i mean why is it ok to do it in a belt but not at a station?
noob bashing is kinda unfair but thats eve for u no one ever said empire was safe. it never has been and never will be!
somone set a gedden smartboming in Jita 4 the other day after tempting all the noobs in with free stuff there was so many kills it gave the guy an instant -0.7 sec and lagged out the whole universe ffs.
now thats noob bashing and theres nothing in the rule book about that!

I like it when people put 200k+ items out front of a station to bait you. I love stealing it with a MWD/Nano Rifter ------------------------ Malum Vir Pirate Corporation Recruitment I'm too sexy for my Cyclone... |

its a 15 min timer thats all not 30 day kill right and prolly the other end of the universe. but farther than 1-2 systems its still useless.

We had a old member(rhymes with darknessinc) who used to bait n00bs in Kisogo, he would drop and label em 'Free Ore' and then he would pop em with his rookie ship....the rookie ship had T2 guns, that i dont agree with. =) but yea killing ore thieves is great fun, jsut dont get desperate and start baiting pepople in n00b systems =)
Ore thives are the one way us miners get a little action
fear the T2 drones in a covetor tho.
