Fellow Caldari, Citizen of the State!
The State is at war, and the Storm Wind is calling your name! Can you hear the roar of guns, firing in batteries as one and filling the sight with clouds of smoke? Can you hear throttles of thousands of condors, flying in strict formations above you? Can you hear Caldari troops marching to the battle, shaking ground with synchronous pace? These are the soldiers, that will fight together the war for what is dear for all of us, hand to hand, shoulder to shoulder, as one... As Caldari.
Then what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for the Storm Wind to rush to your home with enemy squads, crushing and smashing everything you have and worked for all your life? Are you planning to run away and hide in wormhole and null security space as all these cowards and traitors, whose names will be stained with disgrace for thousands of years? Do you value your precious life higher than reputation, honor, respect and lives of your kirjuun? Or do you want to live forever?!!
The State is at war, and Caldari do fight!
This is not the war, where one corporation fights another, this is not the war, where you want to get just more assets for your corporation or one CEO avenges another for pity insult. This isn't even war for ideals and doctrines, formations and blocs. Patriots, Liberals and Practicals don't fight here against each other, we all fight together as Caldari. We may have different ideals, different approaches, different methods and maybe different goals, but we are still all Caldari and we have two things in common: our past, and our future. And for this future, where Caldari will be allowed to live, we will fight.
We don't want to be assimilated, we want to have a CHOICE to decide for ourselves HOW we want to live. We want to work for ourselves, and not for federal beurocrates. We don't need their empty promises and ideals instead of food. We don't need their decadence and their lechery instead of our culture. We don't want our sons brainwashed into mindless democracy addicts, and we don't want our daughters to become exotic dancers! We don't need serpentis drugs in schools. We don't need our property and lands redistributed to luxurious gallentean magnates, because their majority would vote for it. We don't want to be ruled by grey unedicated mob, following its low animalistic desires!
We want to choose our future for us ourselves. We want to stay Caldari and not sink in waters of time like Mannars and many other nations who lost their identity, subjugated by Federation. And we will fight for our future. Even if we have to die, we will die in battle, with weapons in hands, not hiding under beds like those cowards, who were sitting in nullsec, while Caldari are fighting. Some of us will die, yes, but what we will do in life, will echo through the Universe. Fear of death is absurd, because the death is the only certain thing in each life. We cannot choose if we live or die, or when we die. But we can choose how we will meet our end: looking fearlessly into eyes of our enemy, or a coward's death by taking a bullet into your back.
Today we will let the Wind of the Storm to guide us, to gather us and direct us, all as one, as an unrelenting force, that will push away the rapacious enemy from our borders. But for this, all of us should throw away our insignificant disagreements and stay united for what does matter.
Stop finding already petty excuses for evading the War and your Duty of a Caldari and a Citizen!
Enlist yourself or your corporation today and follow the Storm! |

A rousing call to arms for a cause as rotted as the corpse of the man who launched this war of Caldari aggression. The State built its strength on the mercenary motives of its worst profiteers and its basest charlatans. That, and the intervention of one defeated Nullsec powerbloc after another seeking to lick their wounds and thinking the Gallente to be easy prey.
Now, we see those same nullsec vultures abandoning the pitiful remnants of the State Protectorate, and joining our ranks with turned cloaks and a rack full of warp core stabilizers. Pathetic, really. |

And neither gallenteans respect facts, forgetting that Caldari attacked them because of outrageous gallentean racism towards Caldari population on Caldari prime and unability (or lack of desire?) of Gallentean police force to protect Caldari peoples. |

As I have said before, this proxy war is meaningless. Capsuleers are only fighting over border worlds and even if they take them all, aren't allowed to push the front, and they aren't really assisting the navies since they aren't in a state of open hostilities. It's all just a game by CONCORD to keep capsuleers occupied. |

And yet... She's not wrong. The thing that well-meaning but misguided patriots like Rinai forget, and yes she is a Patriot and one I have some respect for, is that the only thing needed to weld the disparate corporations of the State together into unanimous despite of the Federation is... the Federation.
Because, no, we won't be the Intaki, the Mannar, the Jin-Mei, the countless other races whose names have ceased to be. We want control of our own destiny and freewill to pursue it. This conflict has always been about liberty - but not the shallow form of democracy that the Gallente crusade to bring to our worlds, but our liberty to refuse it.
It drives them insane with frustration. The most powerful and richest empire in the Cluster defied by the youngest and smallest.
In a sense, Diana is right. The Gallente continuously seek to seize the worlds of Black Rise whilst holding onto their own bloated territories. There is a cause there, for those who desperately need one. Sure, Concord ensures that it's a war that can never be won, and their generous pay days mean that the profiteers outnumber the patriots, so that the sides waver and twist continuously, but there are real people out there and real territory changes hands - enough that there's a semblance of purpose. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Every now and then a little victim is allowed to escape; because she smiled, because he's got freckles, because they begged. And that's how you live with yourself. That's how you slaughter millions." "Only a killer would know that..." |

This has, more or less, also become my view. In order to actively participate with any meaning, a capsuleer must either use it simply as a day job, be bored out of their minds, or fueled by enough vapid hate that they can be convinced they are still fighting for something greater than themselves. If a genuine war were to erupt, daily patriots on both sides would pause their entire lives and come rushing out to defend their own. Until then, it is just another day job for those that enjoy it. I do not care what you think as long as it is about me. |

I can understand that position. As for me and mine, the connection has begun to be made through business and friendships more than warfare - proto or otherwise. I have been out of the capsule for several months handling the details and logistics of switching my parent Mega. It takes a significant shift in viewpoints to take that step, commit to that decision.
I do not criticize Patriots for their enduring values, merely the tendency to shun those who do not join them in the territorial disputes.
On a side note, it has been a long time. I hope our paths cross sometime soon. Much has transpired. I do not care what you think as long as it is about me. |

I've set up manufacturing lines, laboratories, hauled staggering amounts of materials and finished products through-out the State and outside of it. I've reached my hand into the waterfall of ISK and taken my share, commensurate with my efforts and investment.
I-RED's gone even further afield, yet held strongly to the State ways and culture and achieved impressive things far beyond what I have. They have a deep and strong connection to the State from what I can tell.
The State Protectorate is far from the only connection to the State, Tuulinen, even if it is rather closer to it than the 24th. Prime Node. Ask me about augmentation.

You should consider investing in some Caldari corporations, Pieter. There are always little corporate minnows flitting between the lumbering great sharks of the megacorps. Second Start, Universal NeoTech, PsySpace, New Caldari Engineering, The Biome Project... The little guys that nobody's ever heard of are still doing good work and who knows? With your help they could be major players on day
To small planetary or civilian corporations like those, the kind of financial resources a capsuleer can bring to bear can make a huge difference. A few wise investements, a share or two, it all goes a long way, and you're directly contributing to the prosperity of the State and the well-being of its citizens.
Or you could donate to a shareholder syndicate and have a say in policy at the larger corporate or megacorporate level. All without noticeably denting your ISK reserves.
Or you could buy a sports team. Good money to be made there. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

Indeed it is, but I have to admit I have not had a second thought about it. The amount of travel I get to partake in now is almost reason enough even if it were not for the ideological shifts. I sank the majority of my liquid assets into picking up Kaalakiota voting stock during the big crash when Heth's misdeeds came to light. Thus far it's a decision that I haven't regretted, since Oritsuu's policies have resulted in a rebounding of the stock price. I also run a couple of battalions of paramilitary troops as a PMC which has actually shown more of a profit than I'd hoped it would.
I'm fairly sure that once Jinari's hurt feelings subside, she'll realise I was talking about being a combat pilot and not an industrialist. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Peace isn't a unilateral process. You'll achieve it faster by extending the olive branch yourself, rather than by waiting for the other side to extend their own. Sure, it takes some courage to do so when there's a real possibility that they'll take the branch and then beat you with it, but as far as know, the feeling that courage is something to be admired is quite a widespread one in all cultures. To freshen up your memory, a first, major step towards peace has been made, the whole dealing around Caldari Prime shows where there is a will, there's a way.
Ishukone offered peace, the Federation accepted. While this doesn't mean peace with all of the State, it has to begin somewhere. We're not one hegemonic bloc as so many assume, we are the State, 8 megacorps that each follow their own path, create their own diplomacy and lead their own security. The acceptance of Ishukone's offer despite the Pendulum war shows a sign that perhaps, at long last, the Federation begins to understand, that to have peace, they have to recognize the 8 Mega's as souvereign entities that work together in what is called the State, a 'federation of megacorps' if you will. -áHero of the State, Admiral Yakiya Tovil-Toba -á-áThe Empire Titans, when big isn't big enough! |

No hurt feelings. Just pointing out that there are plenty of ways to be connected to the State without partaking in the playground war. I-RED has many combat pilots, as an example. Prime Node. Ask me about augmentation.

This sentiment is an illustration of what my initial post was meant to address. It seems to me that the Caldari Militia has very few Caldari patriots among its ranks these days. For years they have been buoyed by Nullsec opportunists, Mercs, and profiteers. They welcomed this influx and exploited it, now their strength has rotted away.
Unfortunately the FDU is now rife with these same scum. We will need to be vigilant not to share the same fate as the Caldari. |

I see you're quoting that same log again. Were you afraid people didn't read it the first time?
Honestly I'm amazed to witness so much attention on the thing. I wrote it several years ago before the Battle of Caldari Prime. Perhaps some of the references are better suited to that context than they are to the present day. I'm sure I can find something equally as titillating to your sense of outrage in my recent logs. |

And the backpedaling begins. If you'd rather not have something used, or in this case as you claim taken out of context, perhaps refrain from making it easily accessible public knowledge .
Otherwise at least have to courage and fortitude to stand behind what you said then in the present.

"Stopping supplying"? Sweetie, the sheer amount of ships and ammunition I've delivered to the warzone and STPRO staging areas in particular is rather likely to be far in excess of the amount of ships you've destroyed. When not delivering there, I've delivered to the biggest market the State has to offer, Jita. (Where, by the way, I pay significant amounts in tax.)

Puts isk in the wallet and feeds the crew though.
Pieter Tuulinen wrote: In a sense, Diana is right.
I can't disagree with this. I can at least hold some grudging respect for men and women like Diana Kim who fight out of a sense of duty to their nation and wish to protect said nation, even if I feel the methods are misguided. Unfortunately most of the combatants are mere profiteers, and while I wouldn't go so far to say mercenaries are bad (they serve a purpose and at least some can be somewhat honorable individuals), it's something of a raw deal for the inhabitants of those systems who have to change their flag every other week just because a great many individuals think it's a good way to gain money and entertainment.
I can agree that I would much prefer the Federation not try and gain influence in Black rise, but if I am not mistaken, that theater also contains nominally Gallente systems, and the State has no more business being there than the Federation has to be in Caldari systems.

It would be incorrect to say that I think the worlds are unimportant. I would very much prefer Black Rise not be under threat by Federation aligned groups, but the war as a whole is a sham. CONCORD isn't going to allow anybody to actually permanently secure those systems for the State, and the war front constant moves back and forth in a clearly delineated area. You can't sue for peace by putting pressure on the other party by driving into their space because you can't cross the lines CONCORD has drawn in the sand. Given that, this "war" has no hope of actually achieving anything.
If you check my record, you will find I spend some time fighting in the Protectorate, but I cam to realize that the fighting wasn't ever going to accomplish anything. I won't hesitate to take up arms on behalf of the State and have already done so on multiple occasions, and will gladly commit to Caldari Navy actions should Capsuleer involvement be allowed, but that is not the same as shooting mercenaries to change the color of a dot on the map. |

Come now Pieter, we both know conditions in the State weren't exactly reminiscent of a Paradise of Milk & Honey before Heth's war. Structural economic problems threatening those programs exist in the State, and persist today. Its why Ishukone was negotiating for a history making level of economic partnership with the Federation before the disaster at Malkalen.
I'm sure you also recall that the Federation extended that same offer to Heth, and what his reply was.
We should all remember that there have been grievances on all sides, but there have also been noble efforts towards cooperation.
As for the efficacy of the CEWPA War, we Gallente learned a harsh lesson when the State Protectorate was able to conquer and hold the entirety of Federation territory within the Warzone. We have no desire to see history repeat itself with Provist thugs imposing communications blackouts and whole worlds being auctioned for economic exploitation. I for one have no tolerance for the free exercise of basic democratic franchise being denied to my fellow Citizens again. So I will fight to control as much of the warzone as possible, and fight to see the State Protectorate is kept on the run and their capability to threaten Gallente security stamped out.
Be assured, if there are abuses of authority in Caldari systems as a result of FDU occupation I will speak out against those. I will take action against those in the Federation who undermine our ideals by oppressing others. |

Funnily enough, our standard of living suffers when our economic power suffers. Heth, of course, fixed all that up in the earlier, saner, part of his tenure as Executor. It's necessary to remember his early successes when we denigrate his later failings - you know that I was one of the first to speak out about those, Rinai.
And there have been abuses and, yes, I believe you have been one of those in the FDU who speak out about them. But then you are one of the Patriots, as am I - most of the complaints about the CEWPA war don't apply to either of us, do they? It was wrong of Heth to try and export our way of life to worlds where it wasn't welcome and to which we had no historic claim. It was wrong of those who thought we ought to have followed up our seizure of Caldari Prime with a campaign against the border systems, while you were weak and disorganised.
It was the best thing in the cluster that the campaign never came to pass - because it would have been the first time the State as a whole set out on a war of conquest and I think it would have leant wings to propaganda against us, convinced reasonable actors in the Federation that we were everything the UNATs said we were and, I also think, it would have changed us for the worst.
We should never be conquerors. It isn't according to the Way and the things that make us fiercely independent would also make us harsh masters to a sullen populace, I think. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Every now and then a little victim is allowed to escape; because she smiled, because he's got freckles, because they begged. And that's how you live with yourself. That's how you slaughter millions." "Only a killer would know that..." |

"His" early successes were actually the result of more qualified subordinates with delegated authority. In each and every situation with which Heth became intimately involved, gross violations of State law and tradition soon followed. As he became more unhinged later on, he began to involve himself more and more. Only then did you and more manage to notice the elephant in the room. Federation must be destroyed. But the Federation is an agressive ppower-hungry dehumanising fascist political entity, that has committed lots of military crimes. Gallentean culture is... well, it is a way how gallentean live their lives. It may actually lack culture, and it is instead soaked with individualism, hedonism, lechery and indecency, but it is their lives. What they do on their worlds is neither my, nor other Caldari business. Of course, until they start bringing their crap to our doors. And if you want to try to do this too, prepare your nose for meeting with Caldari jackboot! So you do wish to destroy Gallente culture. The Federation is as intrinsic to Gallente culture as God is to the Amarr culture. You can't destroy one without destroying the other. So much for respecting other cultures huh? Are you kidding?... Or gallentean schools are really so terrible?. Or just gallentean propaganda blocks any possible perception?
I say that I don't wish to destroy Gallente culture, and you again repeat that I wish to destroy it. You just confirm the fact, that gallenteans can't understand words, and to deal with them we MUST use the force.
The Gallentean Federation is an interstellar entity that must be destroyed, so no one will ever be oppressed by them and subjugated by their culture.
As for that it is "part of their culture", if they really want that criminal and atrocious entity as part of their culture, they can make as many federations as they want on their planets after being quarantined, but without affecting all peoples around them, which will be enforced by said quarantine. |

Not "like Diana Kim", but like all Caldari. Our methods are rather simple: when someone attacks Caldari, we take our arms and fight back. This is what we were taught, this is what our ancestors did. Caldari aren't like minmatars, who would submit to slavery, and aren't like Gallenteans, who can be scared by terrorism and death. All our culture is based on military prowess, loyalty and fighting for the good of many.
For me, these methods are not misguided, because I was taught by Caldari and grew up in the State.

Caldari shouldn't rely on CONCORD, because we are soldiers, all of us. And we will be securing these systems, not CONCORD.

Some of the inhabitants of those systems, such as myself, joined the Protectorate to keep the Gallente out of our homes. We remember the first time the Federation took control of our cities and stations, and how in their retreat from advancing State Protectorate forces, destroyed our industry and infrastructure. Collapsed buildings, scrapped factories, robbed the materials we ripped from the ground ourselves.
For as long as the history of our people, it's been the Federation attempting to take what is ours, then blaming us for fighting back. |

Diana Kim, we of the Amarrian Empire will always stand by our esteemed and educated allies in the Caldari State.
Of the other four races in the Cluster than my own, the Caldari have proven themselves time and time again to be the most enlightened of those living outside of Amarrian space. It is God's desire to uphold those who are enlightened. We help our Caldari brothers and sisters that they may see God the way we do, and become as spiritually enlightened as they are temporally.
Aside from our bonds of fellowship, we of the Amarr, along with our Caldari brothers and sisters in arms, fight against the allies of the Minmatar Republic, which for the most part seeks to expunge God's good name from the cluster. Allies of such an enemy must be fought against. The unenlightened Gallentean masses must be educated in one way or another that God is not one to be trifled with -- by means of our missionaries, or by means of our guns.
This call to arms is a noble one indeed. We of the Amarrian faith must help our allies, and at the same time teach a lesson to those who would help our enemies to wipe his name and memories of His grace from the cluster!
As for me and my Kingdom (small though it may be), I stand by the Caldari in their struggle. What say you, Amarrian brothers and sisters of mine? What say you, my Caldari compatriots?

I find it odd the talk of treason when I at least was given a standard Caldari State issued corporate Clearance Document upon being registered under the auspices of CONCORD. The description of which exists in SCC databases as:
These documents clear the holder from numerous by-laws and responsibilities within the Caldari State and abroad.
They are issued to capsuleers, who typically operate above the law and are accountable to few people. All this document does is formalize that reality, and as such, is entirely redundant and pointless.
As such it logically follows that any Caldari capsuleer granted their Clearance Documents operating within the CONCORD regulatory framework cannot ever be held to the legal charge of treason in any form whatsoever insofar as they are not held accountable to the laws of the Caldari State or a Corporate Court.
This certainly diminishes any accusations of treason on the IGS against a Caldari capsuleer as being nothing more than, "I disagree with your opinion, therefore you are a traitor (somehow)." |

Please dear, it is simply a point of idle amusement for me. I can understand why it is so, and it is simply the fact that in the Federation the only real or intrinsic value an individual possesses for those that wield real economic and political power is their vote and ability to pay taxes. The necessities of public appeasement through an efficient media apparatus to justify the policies of men such as Blaque and the SDII or public expenditures for men such as Roden and the Federal military industry may create contradictions between political narrative and reality, but they are contradictions enjoyable enough to watch and savour for one such as I.

Now, if you would start thinking logically yourself, you would realize that part "accountable to few people" signifies coverage of the statement, and, obviously, these "few people" aren't authorities in the State.
However, unlike outcasts as yourself, there are still many peoples who hold their citizenship papers and still serve the State and not their little egos. It's a simple fact of Caldari law - any system currently occupied by the Caldari State is, legally speaking, the property of the Caldari State and all planetary resources and real estate within that system may be bid for in whole or piecemeal by Caldari corporations.
The important thing to remember is that the Megacorps are amoral first, moral if they can manage it and it won't cut unacceptably deep into their bottom line. They're not out for a cause or a creed, not even Meritocracy. They're out to turn a profit, and will do everything they legally can and, often, whatever the illegally can get away with without regard specifically for morality. This is true of ALL of them, without exception, no matter what glowing things the Scope might have to say about "nice guy" Ishukone.
The reason I have so much respect for the Mens Reppola administration of Ishukone is that he and his board have somehow managed to build a working business model out of doing the right thing for a price, hence the Intaki and Homeworld contracts and whatever the hell it was that happened with Insorum. I don't think anybody's got to the bottom of that one yet. There's a reason that the Napanii word for "charitable" is euphemistically used to mean "Idiotic". Agreed. Where do we stand now, though? These just and necessary wars didn't really do much in the way of ending conflicts. "One big war to finish things" is just a ludicrous notion as there'll always be something new to wage war over after that. I'd rather we focused on peace efforts than gearing up for another big war when there's so little to be gained from paying such a price.

The difference between your people and mine, dear boy, is that when my people were told to fire from orbit on civilian targets, they said 'No.' Think about that for a little while. The automaton fascists who are apparently incapable of questioning orders said 'no' when the proud defenders of liberty were quite happy to reduce cities to rubble and target unarmed freighters packed full of refugees.
The problem with the Gallente is that they've always been much, much better at talking a good story than acting one out. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Maybe your translator is on the fritz, but "people" is plural. As I recall, only one person said "no". And your people are very fortunate for it. That does not change the fact that the Caldari people as a whole rejoiced at the threats of genocide that reclaimed their homeworld, and wholeheartedly condoned the continuation of that threat indefinitely. It's rather telling, to be honest: the Caldari condemn the massacre of civilians; the Caldari massacre civilians. The Caldari praise a man who wiped out millions by driving his ship into a city; the Caldari curse the name of a man who flew his ship into a station. The Caldari fight a war for near a century in retribution for having death rained down from above; the Caldari threaten the same (likely worse) against multiple planets. If you people weren't so loudly hypocritical, I'd praise your consistency in always doing unto others what they do unto you.
Slightly off-topic point of curiosity: is Caldari Prime home to any native breeds of geese and/or ganders?
You have said in the past that the reclamation of Caldari Prime, nothing more nothing less, was the only goal of the Caldari. You're wrong; which is a shame, because that would have been a very reasonable goal. The Caldari got a taste of conquest and they liked it. They wanted more, and Heth lead them on to believe they deserved it and they could take it. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that ambitions of claiming the whole of Luminaire were not exactly kept discreet.
Now if you'd like to talk about what some U-NATs did (and were punished for and condemned after their regime was toppled) and apply their crimes to the Federation as a whole, then I think a parallel conversation about how the State is responsible for the crimes of the Dragonaurs and the Provists is in order as well. Though I don't think that line of discussion is going to lead anywhere productive, or intellectually honest. |

When you hold citizenship paper, it makes you accountable to the corporation that issued the said paper, and thus you will answer to laws of the parent corporation as a paper holder.
Actually, both my corporate citizenship and clearance documents are issued by Kaalakiota Corporation. I am only authorized as a citizen of the Caldari State when I issue specific requests for such recognition, usually only when I am required to enter a Kaalakiota corporate enclave whereupon it is reinstated for the duration of my time spent within such territory. In all other cases as a capsuleer operating under the legal jurisdiction of CONCORD and the DED my Kaalakiota Corporate Citizenship remains rescinded as per issued clearance documents by Kaalakiota. As a CONCORD-DED regulated capsuleer I would exist only in the Caldari State as what is in effect an individually incorporated limited liability corporation registered to the SCC.
As such:
1. I can only be charged with treason under the Kaalakiota corporate criminal codes at a time and place when I am reinstated as a Kaalakiota citizen on Kaalakiota territory.
2. In my operations as an SCC registered corporation under CONCORD-DED regulations I could hypothetically be brought before the Caldari Business Tribunal. I cannot however be charged with Treason as a corporation as it remains a criminal charge under Megacorporate criminal codes not the Company Law of the Caldari State.
Upon such elaboration, my earlier statement that accusations against a Caldari capsuleer of treason are diminished to the point of being laughable I believe still remains valid. Because a Caldari capsuleer granted their clearance documents is legally not an individual or corporate citizen liable to criminal prosecution as such. But only hypothetically as a company of which, "Treason" forms no part of CBT Law.
Even in the scenario in which a Caldari capsuleer may be legally charged with treason under a Megacorporate criminal code this would have to involve their reinstatement of corporate citizenship, while being on corporate territory and the charges brought forward by an authorized corporate officer.
Since no CONCORD-DED capsuleer on the IGS is empowered to act on the behalf of a Megacorporation as a member of a police-investigative or criminal prosecution section then yes, any accusations or allegations of Treason remain as I said, the province of personal opinion devoid of any real or actual authority. |

The reclamation of Caldari Prime is the only thing that kept the State united over our two centuries of existence. It's our rallying cry, our mythology and religion is bound around the physical characteristics of the planet.
Did some people yearn for a more expansionist State? Did Heth? Did he push for it? I can't say that none of that happened - but what didn't happen was a general push towards expansionism.
It's an unfortunate truth that Tibus Heth seems to have wanted to reshape the State in his own image - his own desires and fears. If you feel concerned as Caldari and Gallente head towards peace you must remember that where Tibus Heth's vision stretched farther than restoring the State, it was roundly rejected.
The Caldari do not seek your worlds. We don't want to enforce our ways upon you - except for our way of not interfering outside our borders. All we want is our Homeworld back. But we're not homogenous. There ARE people who dream of profiteering. Of conquest. There are people like that just within the IGS, in fact, as we both know - but they are NOT the State or representatitve of the norm within the State. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Every now and then a little victim is allowed to escape; because she smiled, because he's got freckles, because they begged. I totally understand where you're coming from, Otsito. I've only been dirtside about half a dozen times in my life and things like natural gravity, fresh air, plants that grow wherever they like and weather that does whatever it wants... it can all be a bit overwhelming!

Flightless my bum. Why would a bird be flightless?! That right there is proof of shenanigans of some sort, possibly (but not limited to) freakish genetic manipulation by evil madmen or quite simply the evolutionary result of a predilection for running down your prey by foot or some other psychotic desires. I don't count something that can easily stab it's beak through my stomach without jumping to be small either.
And they swarm!
Last time someone linked pictures of those freakish things here I had to go have a session in my cuddly wuvvy bear pit to stave off the hysterics. Dirtside is freakin' insane. Ponguins. Proof that there either is no God or that he's absolutely insane. Prime Node. Ask me about augmentation.

However, unlike outcasts as yourself, there are still many peoples who hold their citizenship papers and still serve the State and not their little egos.
As such: 1. You are saying "Caldari Capsuleer" a lot while talking about your persona, whether "Caldari capsuleer" isn't applicable. Caldari Capsuleers serve the State, if you don't serve the State, you aren't Cadari capsuleer, but just a Capsuleer. Well, if you want to emphasize on "Caldari", then it would be a capsuleer of Caldari descent.
As for charges in treason, yes, Capsuleers are hard to put under tribunal, while they legally stay only as capsuleers. There are, however, inherited from Caldari Navy corporation military laws for wartime, that should be applied to Protectorate pilots as well.
If supposed traitors don't give up themselves for the process, or to detain them doesn't seem applicable, the usage of deadly force is allowed.
/
For those, not acquainted with this, I'd like to add, that this doesn't untie hands to officers, allowing to blame anyone in treason and shoot them. Because after that officers themselves are put under tribunal, and if the tribunal finds out that supposed traitor didn't commit treason, then the officer will be executed for murder and exceeding one's commission. This means, before naming someone a traitor you must be completely sure that y and you are putting your own life at the stake to stand for your word. |

Holding territory. Besides, it's nice to slip in, goose the Feds and slip out, leaving burning wreckage behind us. I'd say it keeps them humble, but that's really not a feasible goal at any point. The original objective - which I suspect remains - was to colonise and exploit it as the fourth sovereign region of the Caldari State.
Given that CONCORD seemed to consider the State's claim to that region valid enough to accept it as our sacrifice into the CEMWPA, I don't see why that objective would change. Tell that to the dead. It really didn't take long for us to realise that if taking and holding space was impractical then charging the Feddies and their pets rent for it was quicker, didn't require defensive deplexing and was better money. Frankly, it has always been impractical for a militia to hold systems in my opinion. This is the underlying problem with the proxy conflict. Militias are inherently inefficient and less effective, which makes holding systems largely pointless if there is no end in sight to the conflict. If there was a possibility of it ending, you can bet that people on both sides would come flooding out of the woodwork to be involved. But until then, it is just an incredible waste of time to try to organize such an inefficient force for temporary benefits. |

The primary actors involved in the present CEWMPA conflict on the side of the Caldari State are Kaalakiota, Wiyrkomi, and Lai Dai all three of which represent almost the entirety of the Caldari military-industrial complex.
The primary actors involved in the present CEWMPA conflict on the side of the Gallente Federation are Roden Shipyards, Duvolle Laboratories and CreoDron all three of which represent almost the entirety of the Federal military-industrial complex.
The rhetoric, ideology, and who holds what systems when and where remain superfluous because for that is not the real interest of companies involved in the business of war. The CEWMPA conflict between the State and Federation represents the ideal war for a military industry: a limited conflict in which little has to be risked to ensure demand for armaments.
What do Kaalakiota, Wiyrkomi or Lai Dai really lose in the CEWMPA sectors of Black Rise? The region is barely developed comparatively having only been explored in the last two decades and their station orbital assets there remain guaranteed by CONCORD. In fact, in the short term, having the majority of Black Rise a war zone would mean little interest or pressure on the part of other CEP Megacorps to open Black Rise to them. In the long term thus securing the region in the interests of Kaalakiota, Wiyrkomi, and Lai Dai alone.
What does the Federal military-industrial complex lose in the CEWMPA sectors of Placid and Essence? Their occupation would serve only to fuel public outrage in the Federation and the necessities of having a perceived credible external threat that would justify the diversion of public funds to companies such as Roden Shipyards and strengthen the political ambitions of the Federation's Hawks and nationalists.
This is a necessary war for both the State and Federation, but not for the cause of any real ideology, but rather that it satisfies certain interests of corporations on both sides of the conflict that wield significant power and influence. It is a mutually advantageous scenario for those that can grasp its benefits, and while I do not believe there will be a conclusion of the conflict in the short term, I can take solace in the fact that its further escalation would be detrimental to the interests of those involved, and those with power, that it should not occur. |

Having particular economic benefits does not mean that it is a 'necessary war.' The economic resources involved could theoretically be applied elsewhere and reap similar benefits. |

If a business model proves viable and provides tangible benefits to a company involved then there is little need for another. If the profits of war outweighs the costs of peace, then war should be pursued. This is true of either of the CEWMPA conflict specifically or the present CONCORD regulated war economy in general.

Of course, and while these pointless discussions on peace and ideological rhetoric is taking place the practical reality is that the CEWMPA conflict remains a profitable business model. For the Caldari State it can be seen in the following process:
- Under CEWMPA the registered militia organizations are authorized to make available proprietary Naval equipment among others to contracted CONCORD freelancers.
- If one takes a look at the listings of products and takes a look at the products on offer and looks at a Navy Frigate then one can see that no net loss is actually incurred by the militia organization because:
a) If one trades in a standard frigate with a nexus chip then no real net loss is incurred by the Navy in providing a Navy Frigate because in the first place a Navy Frigate is in essence a standardized hull with firmware upgrades and equipment modifications achieved through construction modularity.
b) If one purchases a blueprint for the Navy Frigate then the Navy has made two million ISK for simply providing a licensed digital schematic.
- On the open capsuleer markets a Navy Frigate can fetch a price hundreds of percent higher than either its actual manufacturing cost by a company such as Kaalakiota. As such if a Navy Frigate that might have cost the Caldari Navy between 400,000 and 450,000 according to capsuleer SCC markets is then sold in the Caldari Navy Jita 4-4 station for 15,000,000 ISK then the Navy has just made 225,000 ISK after levying its 1.5% transaction tax from the sale.
- From the above examples then the Navy has just made:
a) 225,000 ISK in addition to effectively recouping the sale of its Navy Frigate in its inventories. b) 2,225,000 ISK for offering to do nothing more than a copy and paste operation from a digital database
It is through transactions of these types that the Caldari Navy is able to leverage its access to propriety technology and intellectual property and their sale to generate profits through the CEWMPA system. It is then through these profits made by extracting value from the decoupled capsuleer SCC markets they can purchase vessels and armaments from State military industries such as Kaalakiota, Wiyrkomi, or Lai Dai who in having the benefits of industrial economies of scale and integrated supply and production chains can potentially offer that materiel far cheaper comparatively in terms of manufacturing and production costs than that made by an independent capsuleer.
This system would hold true not only of the Caldari Navy and the State Protectorate but also all the involved Navies and Militias currently involved under the CEWMPA conflict. The difference being that out of all its participants, it remains the Caldari Navy and the State that stands to gain the most from such a limited war fought by capsuleer agents and contractors due to the ownership of the Jita 4-4 station.
Knowing this, I remain more than willing to watch and participate in deaths of millions under the CEWMPA war in the short-term when in the long-term it secures the strength and strategic interests of Kaalakiota, Wiyrkomi, Lai Dai and the wider State.

And a waste of time to try, quite frankly, when our preferred combat style is to patrol them looking for targets. Do you want to 'orbit butan' for hour upon hour? I don't! Let the horde of profiteers do that for whichever side they happen to be flying for this month. There are Caldari peoples live in. Maybe it is not practical, but it is what Caldari people do: we fight for each other. And this is what for our profits are used.
Defending is a burden, but it is duty to all those, who live in systems, and we must do our duty, because we are fighting for them. Would you like your home to be occupied by gallenteans? So gallentean soldiers would sleep in your beds, while you were thrown out? When gallenteans would force you to vote for their leaders, so you will have to choose between several incompetent gallenteans to rule you? Or maybe you want to give half of your income to taxes to pay for overgrown bellies of gallentean beurocrates, who eat food they buy on your money? Do you want to hear gallentean swearing on streets, see loitering around your home, or maybe trash, dirt and garbage laying on the roads, or even some illegal drug seller setting his shop near your door?

I am aware of how the system works. As I said before, I was merely pointing out some of your assumptions. Just as you have now once again assumed that the conflict is necessarily in the long-term strategic interests of the State. Maybe it is, maybe it is not - but you are merely assuming that it is purely because it has certain economic benefits. This says nothing about the possibility of economic and strategic benefits of the conflict being over. |

Economic benefit translates into real power, both military and political -- that is not an assumption, that is fact. Far better the reality of economic strength and military and political power through the CEWMPA war which are tangibles than the vague and intangible benefits of a peace that are not even described.

It really is, and anything else to the contrary remains nothing short of ineffectual theatre that will not prevent the machinations of the gears of war turning either in the CEWMPA zones or in the wider cluster so long as there exist real economic interests to perpetuate it.
Of course the choice between accepting reality or subscribing to the views and opinions of so many delusional fantasists and their constant streams of platitudes, ideological rhetoric, and cognitive dissonances of whatever variation here on the IGS remains as ever, a personal choice. Today we have liberated Asakai from gallentean occupants, but many other systems are still under gallentean oppression. We all are looking towards the moment, when they will be pushed back to Villore or even further.
But for now, the War of Caldari people continues, and we must keep doing what all Caldari must do:
TO FIGHT. Awesome job on that. We'll let you know when we want it back.
Got to say though, one-sided domination is really bad for a free-man's business. Especially when the losing side hates his guts. Should I start buttering up with the State? Last I checked I was Kill-On-Sight to them. |

The question is when you would want to make another silly attempt at occupation. And to let you think about it better, I invite you to our storage in the system, where you can pick us as many remains of gallentean occupants in plastic bags as you wish. And don't forget to distribute them as presents to those, who will be deciding when to attack Caldari worlds again, so they can see themselves, what fate awaits every one of gallentean occupants. |
