Hi guys!
I've just bought 6x 650 Scouts and I have 4x on my Rupture! Pretty good dmg!
But I'm not far from my Tempest and I've read the forum and I've gotten the impression that 1200 guns are no good!
Can someone give me some advice what to do?
6x 650 Scouts on a Temepest? or 4x 1200?
Are large proj good, they have bad ROF!
or? any tips or ideas?
Take care

The tempest give a HUGE bonus to large projectile guns. Bring your battleship skill to 4.

1200mm's aren't bad at all.
I've given up my hybrids in favour of 'em.

1200's are far better than the 650
That said you do need the bship skill at 4, and rapid fire, large proj etc as high as possible.
Each lvl of min battship adds +5% RoF and Dmg Mercenary | The Azath |

Edited by: Barbicane on 05/10/2003 11:28:22 Have you looked at the 1400mm Howitzer Artys? The 23 sec ROF looks daunting at first, but on a Tempest with its ROF bonus, some decent rapid firing skills, and a couple of good damage mods, you can get it down to a reasonable 10 sec.
Incidentally, I happen to have some BPCs for sale

Hmmm but I'd make sure to load up with something to deal damage close in as well even if its only drones :-) With the large howitzers you can hit something moving even at half decent speeds close in so cruisers might be a lil bit of a problem to hit.

I would agree with the 1200mm's (can't vouch for the 1400mm's as I haven't tried them yet)
I used to fly a Rupture and now fly a Tempest, and have moved up from 650mm Scouts to 1200mm's. I would say that if your flying a cruiser and use Projectiles use 650's or 720's (Scouts) But if your flying a BS then use the larger guns.

Edited by: Lithorus on 05/10/2003 19:52:02 Edited by: Lithorus on 05/10/2003 19:50:56 1400mm have a little less tracking compared to 1200mm but far better optimal range and falloff. 40km Optimal and 60km Falloff. With the right modules/skills/ammo you can hit good with this baby at a 80km range. Sure the ROF sucks but then take a look at the dmg mod. But ofcourse these guns also take alot of Power to use.
Edit: Pictures speak louders than words :) And btw. tti-nexus is out of date on this one..

Less rof is a problem when you miss 50%, 50% miss = 50% less dmg done. __________________________

1400 only has little less tracking than 1200 and much higher range, so its miss rate won't be higher than 1200, if 1400 miss 50%, then 1200 miss 50% too..... what's the problem? 1400's dot is better than 1200 i believe.
