I have a new Dev Blog with some information about the EVE Collectible Card Game and CCP throwing the official CCG launch at Gencon. Check out the blog and come on back here to discuss.

That diary style dev blog you did last time was great, so more of those would be interesting. I think Hammer should write most of the text and use the word boobies alot, but thats just me. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

Is there a cut off for making pre orders if they are soon to ship or will the mega packs continue to be offered upto and beyond the gencon?

Argh. There is no justice. The one year I decide not to go to GenCon Indy and CCP will be there. That stinks.

So when will the Mega Pack pre-orders be sent. Last I knew were that pre-orders were being sent in July. Is that not the case now?

I looked at the rulebook. Pretty standard stuff in the beginning and matches most CCGs. The whole 'pick at random who goes first' should have more detail. Such as 'Use a random method of determining who goes first (roll of a dice, flip of a coin, etc)'. That will become an issue in multiplayer games, no doubt.
The rest of the rules look okay to me. Something makes me wonder about the battle portion though. Without actually seeing more cards yet, I can't quite put my finger on what is making it feel odd to me.

I threw out a thread in the Player Gatherings and Events forum to see who was planning on attending and the possibility of organizing a meet on some evening. Check it out and drop a line if you know what you will be doing.
Gen Con Indianapolis 2006 Event Thread
Jeez, there will be a lot of things happening at Gen Con, especially on Saturday. So far my day then is already packed with a miniature recreation of The Battle of Serenity Valley from the Firefly universe, the EVE CCG release, the Video Games Live concert, and ending with the last hour of the Mega Twilight Imperium tournament.
Kieron, could you answer the following question for me?
Unfortunately, the Serenity game overlaps with the EVE CCG session by an hour, so I was wondering if its important to be at the booth at the beginning. CCP's event is listed as a whole 6 hours. Is this just so you can show up at any time to participate or is there some event that will take the whole 6 hours?

At first when I saw the anoucement of the game I though sweet, and rushed to place and order for a few boxes. Then I stepped back for a moment thought it over read the rule book looked over the sample cards and thought this doesn't look so good after all.
Now I'm back to the point thinking I can't knock it till I tried it. In the end it will be the cards that determine the game play. So I'll stay neutral atm and read what others think of the game after it's out. Who knows, if you did it right you could have a pretty sweet game. Player Recruitment

Tried out the EVE-CCG yesterday and loved it. The unique eve mulligan is an awesome balance factor as it gives you a much better chance to resources and thus being on equal footing to your opponent from the start.
As an eve player i found some things to be strange (burst for example) but the gameplay itself, the cards and general balancing of the different races is great.
My verdict on the EVE-CCG came to me in a dream, it said: "I attack with all my ships, pwn using the thrasher for 3 damage on the Condor, kamikaze the breacher for two damage on the kestrel and CCGWTFFOAGBBQYB".
I am so buying this

Glad you guys are going to be at GenCon. I go there (almost) every year and now I'll get to meet a few of you.
GenCon is a great counter point to the yearly FanFest and you might want to make it a regular thing since there are a ton of US players that might never be able to get to Iceland but do get to Indy every year or can get there if there is a reason to (hint hint).
Going to be a fun time! Can't wait!!

Yes, I'm curious as well as to when they will ship.
Also, I never did receive a confirmation e-mail. Does this matter? (This is, by the way, the 3rd or 4th time I've asked this in as many posts.) All my order info is still stored in the store, but still no e-mail (and I pre-ordered in the first week that people could ). I was also already charged for it as soon as I ordered it.
But the most important question I have is "What happened to my confirmation e-mail?"
Hate being a pest, but it is just something that I would like to know. ----------------------------------------- Will Work for a Cool Sig!
