I recently built a sniperthron. Now, I don't gatecamp really, I just use it to shoot noobs and pods and things at gates/stations that are annoying me. I can't really kill any good stuff with it yet (no T2 Large Rails yet), so it's not a money making proposition yet. But I didn't think I'd like zapping noobs at 180km quite as much as I do.
It's really amusing when I warp in at 100km and 1 volley some poor sods frig or cruiser. And with sensor boosters, the lock time is almost always fast enough to get their pod in the next volley.
Anyway, I'm wondering if there's anything other people do that they secretly enjoy, that isn't particularly a stand up pass time.

No guilt involved.
I'd be worried if I felt guilty for blowing up somebody's spaceship in a game, to be honest.
All good fun at the end of the day

Aww c'mon, that could be over half the EVE universe!
The only thing that I ever felt guilt for was when a Macro-Miner came back to his PC and complained that he wouldn't have the cash to feed his family if I stole his ore. I felt guilty for about half a second, before he set his drones on me. Then I fired back, and scared him off for a while. Probably the only guilt I ever felt in EVE, right there, half a second of doubt.

ive been guilty of using serious bait.
ill have my alt in a system in a raven or something similar, with ALL weaponsystems idling (not with target)
and iwait for someone to find me
as soon as they start locking on me they get locked back and are treated to a mix of cruise and heavy missiles (for pesky inties) they also get webbed and scrambled to boot. while my main flies in in an inti, waits for the ship to go squisch and locks down the pod
its just my little fun thing:) and i have too much fun doing it.
oh, and adopting newer players to form a non-corp gank squad.

I sometimes feel really guilty killing all these "serpentis" guys. They just keep coming back to the same belts (I guess they like mining or something) in BS's and cruisers. They must be a really dedicated group of people, seeing as they seem to all have Serpentis in their name. Not very clever, though. They shield AND armour tank. Noobs. :/

I think you should check out my bio in game LOL. I have a special hate for noobs in destroyers myself. It's their first ship larger than a frig, so noobs think they can go directly to low sec and kick some ass with em, so they all come piling into my area with their bright shiney new destroyer and about 2000 ISK left in their wallets. I don't even ask for ransoms anymore. I just pile a bunch of 425mm rail rounds into their ass and wait for the pod lock to send em back to their clone bay.
Watching a brand new destroyer go pop on the first volley is one of EvE's special treats. Because I said so...

When I was in TRIE, we used to do a bit of pirating on and off, as the mood took us. The best way we found to do it was to get sec status of > 0 and then go on a spree. People in low secs (especially those in silly psuedo-alliances like the "Bordan Defence Alliance") love to assume anyone not orange is friendly. The best time was when we ganked some guy's (I think it was Gigs) new command ship the day he got it, leading to a war where we inflicted over a billion ISK in damages depite being outnumbered 10:1 . It just goes to show who ISS will let in these days
Another guilty pleasure was using the war targets' own killboard as our own

Warping to sentries while flagged. I don't know why but I must get off on it or something because I've lost about 3 Taranis's (Taranii?) in combat and about 58.2billion of them to sentries.
Mmmm, t3h raw destructive power of sentries...
"omg i see a ship, I'm gonna chase him!"
*pop*
"er.. can someone grab my can?"
I also let noobs I find mining in frigates live, although I'm constantly being told not to.
I just ransom them for one isk, so it's still piracy... ----------- Join channel 'Turby' or die! (bring pie) Mission running carebears drop good loot. Probe one out today! |
