yeah how did you make it? did you model it in 3d and texture it or was it all done in 2d like in photoshop or some other 2d package? nice work!

HostageTaker; Whilst this thread might get fewer hits than those with screen shot wallpapers, I like to think it's from a more discerning class of players 
In answer to your questions, the image is created entirely in photoshop. I did it at work in my spare time and had to use the vector tools for most of it as I didn't have access to my Wacom. That also accounts for the crisp 3D render look. Glad you guys like it, if work continues to be slow I may be posting a few more desktops.
As for which ship to do next... well I haven't really decided yet. |

Only 2 days ago i brought a 19 inch widescreen monitor that runs 1440x900 and then you post one of the nicest eve wallpapers ive ever seen :D Good job.
On a side note, i run dual monitor (1 at 1440x900 and the other at 1280x1024. Is it possible in the settings to make the background fit both screens or am i stuck with the edges cut off the pic and grey bars at top and bottom of my standard 19 inch monitor?

This image took me about 3 days inbetween real jobs. Prolly about 16-20 hours painting time.
I aquired a nice widescreen recently too, which explains the aspect ratio of the original image. I haven't tried on anything other than an Nvidea card but you should be able to set different desktop wallpapers for each monitor in the advanced display settings, Admiral Keyes.
I have heard of the sci-fi meshes gang and I do work in 3d occassionally however I'm not part of any online creative community. I keep an eye on the work over at conceptart.org. Don't tend to post, just spend all my time being blown away by some awesome artwork.
