It wins single player totally (I've yet to see an RTS with a single player campaign which could get near touching it. Best otherwise IMO is Warcraft3, and that has nothing on it). I think Homeworld II (hell, even Cataclysm) was a much better multiplayer game.

On the ohter hand, I wasn't very old when I mainly played HW1 multiplayer: I might just have enjoyed the later ones because I was older and more tactically adept. I totally agree on the siege cannon though

If you're using a CD-keygenned key, it won't work. Some old Homeworld CD keys apparently also don't work: I know there's a forum you can post on to get them to approve your old CD key if it doesn't work. EVE would be the perfect place to "re-create" Homeworld. Imagine tier 1 or 2 frigates swarming out of the mothership to engage the Taiidan (or Kushan) scouts, tier 3 frigates as the interceptors, the corvettes (destroyers) and so on, with all types of ships available in our game (tech 1 would make the game slow enough to be enjoyable to every pilot regardless of skillpoints and allow someone to record the fights). I would love to see PVP like it should be done (in my oppinion): 1 on 1, frigate versus frigate, cruiser versus cruiser, etc. and this could be easily done on the test server, a bit harder on Tranquility unless we get some support from the GMs :) If you're interested, contact me somehow :)
