A great tip to you CCP for making the community larger is to make it a bit faster to start with this game. I am one of those who abandoned this game because the lame start :S . Give the rookie level players a boost ;D

I can't follow this train of thought either.
You go through the tutorial because it's needed. The game is too complex to just jump in with your feet first. (Although you can do it, if you really want to.)
And you're able to go out and start shooting rats at the start if that's your fancy.
You're not going to fly a battlecruiser after 5 hours, but that's part of the game, and does not need to be "fixed".

I personally love the steep learning curve and long, boring tutorial. While I hated doing it, I absolutely love how it keeps all the hotheads and 'z0mg I r l33t' d00ds out. It also helps filter out the folks with short attention spans and low intellect, which helps (somewhat) to create a mature community.

The tutorial is a lot better than it used to be...but you have to take notice of it too!! (Some people ignore it, then moan...)

Lol why dont you just ask ccp to change there name to blizzard and change eve to wow while your at it.
This game isnt suposed to be a game like X3/Freelancer/Freespace/Wing commander/privateer ect. its suposed to be more like Elite only huge. that means bulding up from the start not geting an i win button with your noob ship.
Why do noobs need a boost? you can pawn a vet in 6 months with the right training. The games about specializing.

This should be in a FAQ somewhere on this site without a doubt. --------- Want to purchase a T2 Ice Mining Barge, the Mackinaw? Contact me ingame via EVEmail or check out the Heimatar market. |

Quality, not quantity is what makes this game appeal to me.

My idea is that instead of giving new players a boost or something to training skills, make actually playing the game cut off some of the timer for your skill. Maybe like, depending on what difficutly the unit was, shave off some time to the skill being trained??
