What are good Gallente piracy ships that are cruiser price and lower?

The Thorax is by a great deal of people considered the finest cruiser class pirate ship, and i'm inclined to agree, the vexor is also amazing.
Brutix is also a very good gang ship.

Thorax with MWD has the speed to tackle, the tank to survive, and the damage to kill. Thorax is a beast. It is however the most predictable ship ever. When PvPing its best to think outside the box. ===============================================

Gallente ships are totally awesome for solo piracy. I suggest you try using the Vexor, it's such a fun ship to fly and also less predictable than the Thorax. Like Scoundrelus said, the Thorax can be too predictable.
Many solo pirating Thoraxes are fitted with a large plate and small blasters. It is by far the most common set-up. The Nos-Vexor however, is less common and just as hard to beat in solo combat. Also, the Nos-Vexor can cope with being out-numbered much better than the Thorax, since its drone bonuses and nosferatus do a much better job of dealing with pesky gang-tacklers. The cheaper price of the Vexor doesn't hurt either, since you should plan to lose at least 5 of whatever ship you're flying at the moment in PvP.
The Vexor is much more skill intensive to fly well however, whereas you should be able to run a semi-decent plate-rax in no time, albeit with some RCUs in the lows.
From my personal experience, I would start with the plate-rax and attack soft targets and get used to pirating, then try out the Vexor to mix things up a bit. I wish I could recommend the Taranis, it really is a hoot to fly. But I just suck at PvPing with it :'''(. Still it's all part of the fun, right?
Don't rule out the Celestis either for gang combat. Its sensor dampener bonuses work great in a gang of cruisers taking on the solo battleship. Just make sure you can handle it when your target pops his drones. I've yet to have any success flying the Celestis solo.
This is just my personal experience and it is by no means definitive. Keep reading all the Gallente set-up threads. If you're flying in another race's space, check out their most common set-ups and figure out ways best to counter them. All the best with Gallente piracy, they rock the house. |

Thorax is a great ship for piracy, and it's my main choice at the moment (Though as said above, thing of using other setups, not the standard plate one) The Brutix works well too, but keep that for gangs when taking on larger ships, as using it to kill frigs (once you get round the tracking (drones are your friend!))does get boring (In almost every 1v1 I used it in I came out on top by a long way, great at first, but then you loose the rush of a challenge)
Can't comment on the other ships mentioned as I've not used them

I tried the 2 lower-end gallente Cruisers for piracy when I was a wee noob (Celestis and Exequror) but I really don't rate them myself, the amount I lost in combat totalled to more isk than if I bought the Vexor or Thorax.
I love the Rax and I always try to make a slilghtly different setup to the typical ones to try and catch people out but the Vexor is awesome if you have the drone skills. One thing I definitely notice was the ma-hoosive difference it makes having Gallente Cruser LvL5 !

Short range, speed fitted Incursus or Thorax ftw. My first few PVP kills were in an Incursus, with this setup:
High: 3x named ion blasters, or 2x named ions and a small nos. Med: Monpropellant Hydrazine Boosters, Warp Disruptor, Langour Drive Disruptor Low: Small Armour Repairer, 200mm plate.
Yes, I used named kit. As a rule I never buy it, but if I get it as loot I have no problem using it.
Now, here's a piece of advice you may not hear from someone else. On the small ships, you can play with them by taking out their drone before attacking the ship. I was in Adeel, and spied with my little scanner, one Catalyst. He was using a drone, and I waited until he took out the rats before engaging. I may have even told him he shouldn't be there. Anyways, I targeted his drone first, then locked and scrammed him. I put the nos on the cat, and started shooting the drone. I laughed when I realised he was using 75mm rails, as I was under his guns, burner on. I offered a ransom of 500k in local wich was ignored. I took him out, and he didn't even make a move to get his pod out. Lock, scram, 200k ransom on pod, got told to go and have an intimate relationship with myself. Squish

Thorax and Vexor are by far the best Gallente cruisers for random acts of violence
