Went without net at home for three weeks after my old ISP shut down without warning, and spent a lot of time arguing with the parent cable company on how to get it back, to no avail. I'm back now, but the current alternative is not too great, and I'm still tossing up whether or not to go through the pain of switching AGAIN, but at least this time it'll be planned so there won't be so much downtime if it happens. As for how I coped, I spent the first week watching every single Eve movie I've ever downloaded, getting rid of the ones I decided I didn't want anymore. Then I spent a bit of time working on a new vid, but my partner in crime (KelThuzad) struck issues with his Premiere, so after a few days that had to be put on ice. Week two, I reinstalled Freelancer. Took me 2-3 days to complete, spent the rest of the week exploring the rest of the game, shooting Outcasts and later Nomads until that got boring (Corsairs ftw). Week three was a struggle as I installed DOSBox in desperation and tried to get TIE Fighter to work, but it required a change of the config.sys which doesn't exist in DOSBox so bad luck me. Made up the rest of the time surfing forums from work, watching TV/movies at home. /Ben

fairimear Gallente	Posted - 2006.07.24 11:24:00 - [6] i tend to revert to watching tv show box set. i had eve down for a week last year for a unknown and still mysterious reason and watched all 300 episodes of the simpsons aswell as atended the pub on 2 nights. i also find myself drawn to old game, often replaying through titles like freespace2, halflife, homeworld redalert2 and so on.

Currently still another few weeks before i go back to college. Problem is back here at home living with my dad who has no use for internet or cable leaves me with few things to do. Particularly when my video game and movie collection got left in storage in another state with the rest of my crap. Add in that most my friends work a schedule of 5am-2pm while i work 5pm-11pm (pizza delivery driver ftw), it really makes it hard to be able to do stuff except on the occasional friday or saterday after work. But im pulling thru with help from Civ4, Rome total war and Call of Duty 2 which I got from Direct2Drive before leaving school. So does anyone else feel my pain?
