I think so people hate pvp or war in any form, but that some people like too kill others who worked hard for it like a miner who worked al day mined, refined and tried too bring it too empire. And then suddenly he got podded. Away 2 days of mining , implants and what so ever.
A mining contest, also 5 persons. 4 miners, 1 hauler. In a period time try too stripmine a belt in secure space.
Or a mining contest in deathspace 0.0 3 miners 1 hauler 1 guard. After they strip the belt refined it the hauler has too make his way too empire, with all obstacles possible.

Just a suggestion because finale of pvp was boring

I personally like droning interceptors while mining in a barge so why not do the contest in low sec... Would hate CONCORD to have all the fun =)

You could do it in a way like the pvp tournament:
Every team get¦s one barge of each size and one industrial ship. Put them in a area where a few roids with different ores AND ice is around and let them mine. The amount to mine should be something like one team could mine in around 10 minutes. The team with the highest amount of mined m3 of ore at the end wins.
Prices:
1) 3 Large T2 Barges + Transport ship of choice
2) 3 Medium T2 Barges + Transport ship of choice
3) 3 Small T2 Barges + Transport ship of choice
But I think CCP shouldn¦t plan an EVE-TV coverage of this one :)

I was just thinking that. A Badger mk. II with the right setup could kill the other team's miners, then haul all the ore for a screaming victory. Awesome.
Yeah, the final was pretty weak, but the semi-final rounds were really good.
