Has anyone managed to outfit a Dominix for EW or EW-Jamming ? I know a BB (BlackBird) can be equip'dfor EW or EW-Jamming but since the Dominix seems to have a similar slot config as the BB in terms of the number of medium and small slots - well I think you can see where I am going with this... I would like to know if a Dominix can stand toe-to-toe with a BB and successfully Jam a single BB - obviously a Dominix would need to work hard to defeat the BB even with sufficient Jamming since the BB can use up to 4 missiles with torpedos or cruise missiles and the Dominix would only have a Large Smartbomb or two to counter the missiles.
Any body know this one ?

I haven't thought about the EW aspect against a BB, but I'm p[retty certain it can be done. I want to know why it would be hard for a dominix to beat a Blackbird. It has more highslots, and drones. The heavy drones alone would eat it up in no time. Even if it is out of range, as long as the Dominix has a lock that's 6 turret slots. I don't see how it would have any difficulties like you mention.

Any ship with 2 medium slots could jam a Blackbird. A Blackbird has 11 Gravmetric Sensor strength. To jam one, you need 2 Spacial Destabalizer modules (total of 12 strength) or 3 Multispectral Jammers which could essentially jam any cruiser.
Your biggest concern (in a Dominix) would be targeting speed, or ships with ECCM sensor boosters.

jammed BS is dead in the water, no lock, no drones, FOF missles are possible, but not enough power to win. hell, a group of properlly fitted (and well organized) frigates could take down a battleship. (stasis web, energy neutralizer, ECM, warp jam)
The problem with most of you people is that you assume that having a battleship makes you uber, that damage makes the gun, and the more money you paid for your equipment, the better it is.

Actually drones do work when you are jammed since they will react to incoming fire. If you shoot him his drones will attack you.
But since the drones don't seem to react if you kill anotehr drone you could simply pick them off one at a time before attacking the ship :)

Hmm, so basically you're saying that a fight between a blackbird and a dominix is EVEN if NEITHER of the ships are jammed?
The blackbird won't stand a chance to get the dominix's shields down before he's dead, unless of course the dominix pilot is stupid 
With EW it's a completely different story.
By the way, a jammed BB cannot use torpedos, at best FoF cruise missiles.

Blackbirds have insanely fast targeting times.
Dominix has puh-lenty of low slots.
Get your magnetometric strength up to 19 or so, and bring a couple of sensor boosters, and you'll nail most common setups for BB's.
Also, don't fly a dominix if you can't at *least* use 7 heavy drones. Get the drones out before you're jammed. Bye-bye blackbird.

It's not that I think that being in a BS makes anyone uber. I know a well organized group can easily take one down. The original post however assumes a single blackbird vs. a single dominix would really be a hard fought battle, and it implies this would be so even without the EW. Seriously... that makes no sense.

2 questions to resolve this
How long will it take for the BB to wear through the dom's shields and armor? (will its cap with all jammers on hold out)
How long will the 8 ogres take to rip through the cruiser (independently taregtting)?
