Ok, since the patch I've noticed a few new missions and a few changes. The main ones bugging me are that (1) No combat missions at all as far as I can see and I've probably done mayve 100 level 3 since then, and (2) I used to get the occassional mission with 100k or so as the reward and the same for the time bonus but havent seen any of these either. Of course we did get the implant mission but the above were in game until the time they nerfed the frequency of the implants (which I was fine with, they were dropping too frequently).
I miss the combat ones most of all as they were probably the most interesting of the missions. Were they dropped because of the problems with the likes of VIPs dropping, or was it altered to be corporation or faction specific? And has anyone noticed any other changes in terms of the missions you get since the last patch?

Interesting.
Who are your agents with, and what's their rating?
I'm getting regular combat missions from Level 2 Minmatar agents, as well as 50k + 50k missions from them.
Haven't spoken to my Level 3 in a while though - might have a word with her again.....
Cheers, TOM

My agent lvl3 is giving "occasional" combat missions, ive had 2 in the last 25, one with a 6K kill, the other with a 20K and 3x 6K (nearly got me too..wasnt prepared). but aside from that the missions have been a ballache (20j round trips).
I find that the "special" missions are really crap...for instance an energised mag plate and other waste of time rewards. Aside from the rare implants I had thought that CCP were improving these rewards...surely this isnt what they meant by improvement?? They really need to include better rewards. Wouldnt take much to throw in a compressed coil or somesuch to spice up a mission reward.

"(1) No combat missions at all as far as I can see and I've probably done mayve 100 level 3 since then (...)"
... I got 3 'Gurista Emissary' missions today, one from each of my lvl.3 agent (a Moa + uber Merlin spawn, with super conductors and Drop as reward... was quite fun to fight them in a Kestrel =) Am getting the usual combat missions from the lower level agents quite regularly as well... even had the VIP mission which actually worked.
All for the Caldari-related corporations, btw. Maybe it indeed makes some difference...

I have a Gallente agent (Duvolle Labs) and combat missions, while they exist, are rare. I usually just go AFK for an hour when they come up because I cba to refit my ship.
My L1 DED agent loves sending me on combat missions, and so did my L1 Imperial Armaments agent. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Edited by: SpawnMaster on 06/10/2003 06:38:21 Edited by: SpawnMaster on 06/10/2003 06:36:40 I've had quite a few combat missions for my lvl3. Agent is rated Awsome and is Caldari based in Itamo. I am also gettin regular missions with rewards of well over 150K sometimes close to the 200K mark.
Have done about 30 or so missions, unfortunately no implants yet Although I have had some other nice stuff, like shield hardners.
I'm using a BB to do the missions and have had only 1 mission where I didnt have enough cargo space. good job it was only 4 jumps away. Made 2 trips and still got my bonus ------------------------------------------------ The sky is not the limit. Your only limited by your mind... |

Hmm must either be on a run of very bad luck, or somethings wrong somewhere, or need to switch to another agent.
My agent is level 3, Leisure Group Services, rated +19, with +10 standing, and I'm Min as is the corporation. Done about hmmmm 160 missions for this particular agent.
Anyone else with a level 3 agent in a corp that deals with leisure activities getting combat missions? Just in case they have made some missions more corp specific.

Sebiestor Tribe (Minmatar) lvl 3 agent (+15/+10), I've now done 195 missions and can't remember when I last got a combat mission, but I'm guessing that it was about 100 missions ago. All I'm keep getting is the same 3 types of missions over and over again (1) mine and refine (2) deliver to and from agent station and (3) pickup at another station and deliver to another station which averages a 24 jump round trip. It would therefore appear that my agent no longer gives combat missions

So any devs out there - is this a bug or as intended? Do certain corps now no longer give out combat missions?

Eldene i get exactly the same 3 mission types, but i do get an implant mission now and then. I wish my agent (rebublic parliament bureau) would give some combat missions (or anything else).

The only combat missions I've recieved for weeks from my level 3 agents, have been the special ones. Which means that I've gotten maybe 5 combat missions from my level 3 agents in a month or so of doing missions.
If I do missions for my level 2's, I don't have to do many before they send me out to shoot something, or save someone, etc.
It would be really nice to hear if this is a bug, or intended. Like I believe others have said, it is the combat missions that are the most fun.

ime the missions are corp related.
ie I do missions for "Material Acquisition" and I get courier or "fetch" missions.
I do CONCORD agents and get a mix of combat and fetch / courier.
I do DED and get mostly combat.

That would be very cool if that was true, been asking for that for forever.
But I think some people have navy corp agents who dont get combat missions? Im doing DED lvl 1 missions now, it seems a mix of things. Is the change only affect lvl 3 agents? ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Well, its good and bad, good in that I approve of the missions being more faction/corp specific but it means if I want combat missions at level 3 Im gonna have to damn well train up from level 1 again *sigh*.

I think its more good than bad. New players can now choose the type of play style they want and old players at least wont lose anything working a new agent in a new corp anyways.
But needs to be more consistent throughout all lvls, my lvl 1 DED agent gives combat missions maybe 5% of the time.
I also suspect theres a sizable difficulty jump between the lvls, killing npcs in lvl 2 missions did not in any way prepare for the combat of lvl 3 missions did it?
Also need better intel on what to expect, there is a warning, but still hard to grasp the difficulty of the mission in order to prepare for it. I wouldnt mind being able get a more detailed intel read out on the mission, the ship class, if missile armed and so forth, or even paying the agent for this info. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Just a lil update:
Just out of curiosity I have been doing missions for another level 3 agent within the same corporation, and after about 15 missions I got a combat one. However still havent gotten a combat mission for my usual level 3.
So either the missions can be agent specific, there's some kind of bug, or you stop getting combat missions after you top out your agent standing (the only obvious difference between the two is that my standing with the usual agent is maxed out and the difference in agent quality).

"you stop getting combat missions after you top out your agent standing"
My lvl.3 agent with maxed out standing gave me the combat mission on the same day my other two lvl.3's did, so 'tis doesn't seem to be the case...
... But maybe there's a limit of how many times certain mission can happen, and your agent already gave you as many combat missions as he was 'allowed' to... (e.g. the 'special' referral missions can happen only once per agent, iirc)
