Earlier I did a test with the Prophecy because I was bored and had 50mil I didnt feel like keeping. I got a fairly good tank with 5x Heavy Pulse Lasers and 3 Medium Nos's.
Now I read a thread that made an interesting proposition.
Ive got the skills for T2 lasers and such. So im now setting aside another 100mil for a fun project of mine again. Im going to take the Omen and the Prophecy and make them as good as they get.
Im going to use the Omen I bought and try this setup:
4x Focused Medium Pulse Laser II's
1x Medium Diminishing Nos
20km Scram, Webber, 10mn AB II
2x HeatSink II's 2x Active Hardeners (Thermal/Expl.) and an MAR II.
So far this has cost me about 10-13mil including the Omen itself...Is this actually viable for PvP? I mean its significantly less than a Zealot but for its price it isnt really much of a loss and it could possibly kill a battlecruiser if done right. So I guess would this be a good option for inexpensive PvP?

Because of the 5th Turret on the Maller (I know you're talking about the Omen, hear me out), the Maller does slightly more DPS than the Omen does.
Also, it has more grid and more armor resistances and such, is a better tank.
Try a Maller instead of an Omen.
As for the Prophecy, I've only ever used them for level 3 missions and I fitted 250mm Railgun IIs on it. It did work like a charm though!

See that was my main problem. Mallers are better for pvp probably I just love the look of Omens better. But this isnt a battle of looks its a test to find a good T2 PvP setup on a T1 cruiser..So I guess im going to test the maller first then the Omen and see which one I like.
Oh but on a lighter not I think Omens still do more damage because of there damage bonus.

How did you fit that on an Omen btw?
It doesn't have near enough CPU.

You need to redo the math. At cruiser 5 an Omen will outdamage a maller. The 20% rof bonus is worth more than a 20% damage mod (its more like 33% more damage).
Having said that, tanking the Omen is not really viable, due to the limited grid and cap.
